The Switch has games with "Expansive worlds". It also has a fairly good battery life given the power of the system.

Also since when was gaming and the Switch specifically for Americans? Some people like to take it on family trips. Or when they travel to other places. Let's say I have to fly to Grandma's to the weekend, I can easily continue my Zelda save file. (Theoretically)

If you are really up in arms about "Good Graphics" just shut up and buy a PC.

Laptops, mobile phones etc are made for portability and portability only, they're not trying to be two things at once. The Switch is trying to be everything and that's the problem. Portability means they sacrificed raw-power so games won't be better on a Switch than they will be on a PS4 or Xbox making this article pointless.

Really? So the whole reason the iPhone was successful was because it was a really slick, bright looking portable phone? I mean forget about everything else it can do.
Apple TV, Itunes, etc. The iPhone is successful because it is basically a laptop in your phone/hand/pocket.

The Switch is exactly what it promotes itself as. A gaming system that can be a home console and a portable.

It is the most powerful portable console ever made and can be hooked up to your TV. People have wanted that with their portable games for years.

I can plug those same headphones into switch in handheld mode and drift away to bliss, or connect my Bluetooth headset to switch and dock the switch to the tv and play with no wires and still hear my game beautiful....i love switch options

Underpowered compared to the existing consoles (PS4 and Pro, XB1 and X), which means the Switch can't deliver solid versions of existing 3rd party games, which means it isn't getting them. Make excuses all you want, but at the end of the day, Switch is going to end up in the same situation as the Wii U.

now if you someone who are low on funds then its a good choice for you and I would support it, when i work in game store in the past not many have funds so they always stay a generation or two behind because the games are cheaper, so i can understand if your funds low, go ahead both the 3ds and Ds good choice of system with many great games, there was an article other day showing the 3ds have over 800 exclusive games compare to the ps3 300 something exclusives, so you will find many games there you wont find anywhere else, and I bet the DS numbers are even higher for exclusives

Me personally I love the switch more than any other handheld to come out in the past 20 years, and not because of games looking better, I like how everything feels from button presses, to loading quickly, now when i play on ps4 it feels old and slow, theres just a lot to love, and with more future updates coming to add more features it will stay number 1 on my list and everyone else list

all developers are moving from 3ds to Switch, so its about to take over by 2018, if you did not read fire emblem developers not making any more 3ds games so they move on to the Switch.......even pokemon next main title coming to switch, just like the developers I cant stay on a system thats about to die

just cause they made a 2DS XL do not mean it will stay alive, when the Nintendo DS was out, Nintendo went and made the GameBoy Micro which confuse people why make a another gameboy when the DS was the newer system, so just like the GameBoy Micro I believe the 2DS XL is the last from the 3ds series and then in 2 years they will drop the 3ds line like they did the game boy line........

That is exactly the gamer I am, one with not a lot of funds. I am proudly frugal when it comes to buying my games. However, I did get the PS4 PRO the month it launched but I bought two used games with it. That is the best £369 I have ever spent.

The switch got released with no games but a port that was held back on the previous console, a console that got promoted when IT released to get a zelda game. I bought a wii u and it's had 3 games bought. monster hunter, yoshi (which came out on 3ds...) and xeno.

The switch is great for Couch coop games. I bring it to work every day and we play overcooked, Mario kart etc. I also rebought Minecraft and will get Axiom verge again because I love those games and taking them with me is great.
Of course every game would benefit from the Handheld Mode, but playing Street Fighter 2 on it is just urgh, because it doesnt really have a dpad suitable for that, which means that I also have to carry the pro Controller with me.
In the end its a great Feature that would be nice to have on all games

I'm confused... Is your 60" the same size of a theater screen? If not, then the comparison you are making just failed. On another note, an article was just released that said people are buying less TVs and using phones, laptops, etc to consume programs. So yes, people might prefer to stream new movies to their cellphone.....I mean there isn't a Kodi app for nothing.

If it were strong enough to do that, though, then not only would console heat and battery life be an issue, the cost would be outrageous and not consumer-friendly at all.

As a father of family, the Switch is now BY FAR our number 2 device behind our PC's . When the library gets bigger - Mario, Kirby, Zelda, Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Xenoblade - it will be even more so. When my wife and I want to watch Netflix in 4K, then the our daughter can just take the Switch and go. And she has her own computer and Steam account (linked to mine, with over 1000 games), so she just likes to play on Switch over anything, I had some friends over yesterday - gamer friends - and all of them wanted to play Kart and Arms and then wanted to see Splatoon.

Depends what games and preferences. I love rpgs and arcade games on the go, whereas I prefer shooters, multiplayer and very pretty games on my tv. There are tons of times when I do wish I could play my pc and ps4 games on the go (vita remote play kinda sucks) or play my handheld games on my tv. The switch solves that.

This is pure fanboy fantasy. Most games simply would not be better on the Switch, due to its locked 720p resolution, weaker CPU and GPU, less RAM, and tiny joycon controllers. I'll stick with my PS4 and XBox One for the real console games, not severely watered down versions of games on a tiny low-res screen.

I never said anything bad to him and he obviously see that, I even wrote on the bottom if he need a list of games to get I can tell him some, because I had a ton of fun on DS and 3DS.

Just be a little less defensive next time, everything I said about having lower funds was said in a natural tone, where I respected his purchase, if anything he and others who go cheaper route are smart in the end, they all end up playing the same games as us but pay way less, even if it takes them a few years to get the games

I have to disagree.... while some games would be great, thanks to portability, not "every" game would benefit.
As some have mentioned, voice chat, in its current implementation, is an abomination. Not matter if it works or not, the simple fact that an Android or IOS device is mandatory for voice chat was a poor choice. Add to it that some games rely on higher amounts of memory and higher specced GPUs to create the desired visuals needed for some games.

So while some games should be ported and run great, high end AAA games should probably not be expected... or games that rely on voice chat extensively.

Better is a stretch it would be awesome to have portable versions of my favourite games yes but better? I doubt it the switch is a great console but it can't run everything it's just not powerful enough not to mention always online games wouldn't work unless u had wifi
