Every Video Game Would be Better on Nintendo's Newest Console

Businessinsider: "From my perspective as a Nintendo Switch owner, the reason for the runaway success of this game is simple: Every video game ever made is better, or would be better, on the Nintendo Switch. All of them. Full stop."

... Except any game that needs multiplayer and for anyone who doesn't take journalist rumblings for something else like facts.

Kokyu2875d ago

Or party chat, expansive worlds, good graphics long battery life and the fact most American adults arent just sitting on a bus, train or taxi like the Europe or Japanese populations.

Uken122875d ago

@Kokyu, your statement is flawed as much as the writer of the article.

I will give you party chat, that's it. Only useful in games where it is needed. Or Sweaty competitors. Otherwise it is annoying hearing little kids spout racist shit, background music, heavy breathing and the such.

The Switch has games with "Expansive worlds". It also has a fairly good battery life given the power of the system.

Also since when was gaming and the Switch specifically for Americans? Some people like to take it on family trips. Or when they travel to other places. Let's say I have to fly to Grandma's to the weekend, I can easily continue my Zelda save file. (Theoretically)

If you are really up in arms about "Good Graphics" just shut up and buy a PC.

KillBill2875d ago

@Uken12 - "The Switch has games with "Expansive worlds"." Really, that is your sales line... switch has expansive worlds? Acting as if other systems don't have games that are much more expansive than what switch has to offer. Get over your fanbase loyalty and look at the real situation here.

Too weak for a home console and too large to fit in your pocket

I carry my stuffs in my pockets, not in bags or cases

shinoff21832876d ago

I get it, but staring down at a portable just doesnt do it for me. Would be cool for some instances, but I still have to take my ps4. The switch does sound like it is gonna get a slew of games. So when mario hits im gonna get I am setsuna imported and mario and go to town. Until then I can wait.

scarface01212876d ago

U don't need to look down at a portable, switch is played on your TV. Portability is an additional options.

Rai2875d ago

But this article is saying the killer app is taking it on the go. If he plays the game on the tv...why not just play on the ps4 or xb1?

chris2352876d ago

would is the key word here *g*

XbladeTeddy2876d ago

Personally I prefer gaming on my 50" TV and plugging in my Sennheiser headphones.

"the Nintendo Switch has a simple, killer gimmick"

Being a jack of all trades, master of none?

Dalailana2876d ago

you can do that with the switch.

But you can also play wherever you want. Sitting at the hotel lobby waiting, toilet?, lying on the bed, on a bus.

Portability is not a gimmick. Is a laptop a gimmick? your cellphone a gimmick? why not just use a phone booth? why carry a smartphone?

XbladeTeddy2876d ago

Laptops, mobile phones etc are made for portability and portability only, they're not trying to be two things at once. The Switch is trying to be everything and that's the problem. Portability means they sacrificed raw-power so games won't be better on a Switch than they will be on a PS4 or Xbox making this article pointless.

Sitdown2875d ago

@XbladeTeddy,
So why do some laptops and phones have docking stations?

XbladeTeddy2875d ago

@Sitdown: Because why not? If people want that then they can. I'm just pointing out that this article is wrong saying all games would be better on the Switch when they can't be due to lack of power. Any ports will have to be stripped down taking away the vision the devs had for their game. "Yeah, but you can play it anywhere". No thanks, give me the full experience as it was intended on a console with power.

armchairDev2875d ago

How long do you sit on the toilet for in order to bring a game console with you? Maybe you should see a doctor..

Uken122875d ago

@XbladTeddy

"Laptops, mobile phones etc are made for portability and portability only, they're not trying to be two things at once. "

Really? So the whole reason the iPhone was successful was because it was a really slick, bright looking portable phone? I mean forget about everything else it can do.
Apple TV, Itunes, etc. The iPhone is successful because it is basically a laptop in your phone/hand/pocket.

The Switch is exactly what it promotes itself as. A gaming system that can be a home console and a portable.

It is the most powerful portable console ever made and can be hooked up to your TV. People have wanted that with their portable games for years.
Raw Power? Buy a PC.

I can plug those same headphones into switch in handheld mode and drift away to bliss, or connect my Bluetooth headset to switch and dock the switch to the tv and play with no wires and still hear my game beautiful....i love switch options

Something tells me this is a Ninty issue not a Capcom one.

Enigma_20992294d ago

You're half right. Nintendo Switch cartridges cost more than discs, so physical copies cost more. BUT Nintendo allows publishers to charge what they want for games on the consoles. Capcom goes the cheap route and uses smaller capacity cartridges to recoup costs, opting to make larger parts of their releases downloadable, and now it seems that they STILL overcharge you compared to releases on other consoles to cover the "Switch tax." So maybe don't be so quick to absolve them of guilt here. If anything, Nintendo is guilty of using an expensive format.

averagejoe262294d ago

Definitely not buying these games at that absurd price. Fanboys might buy up anything for Switch but not level headed gamers.

I still can’t believe so many Switch owners bought that Street Fighter II port at such a high price. No wonder so many publishers believe they can get away with higher priced games on Switch, especially when Nintendo itself makes an unchallenged habit of it
