Jakejames Lugo of The Koalition writes: I love Street Fighter 2. To me, it’s not only one of the most important fighting games to ever be released in history, but it’s one that has lasted far beyond its initial release and has remained fun to play across generations of players. Every iteration of Street Fighter 2, with all of their updates and character additions, has built upon the foundation that was first laid out back in the early 1990s.
However, while the new content for the latest iteration of Capcom’s finest fighting game has managed to squeeze out more of hours of gameplay for some, it has also killed some of the fun from playing it. Here are three main reasons why Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers is a dead game.
This game will be dead when that Street Fighter collection releases this spring
Yep
lol
Because its a re-release of a 20 year old game that only added 2 "new" characters that were really just different versions of existing characters?
I mean, did anyone ever ask for Questionable Morals Ryu and Hangry Ken?
They could get back some of the funds if they did a $20 retail release for PS4/X1
I'd like to try the game, but asking for $50~ for a game I can find elsewhere for $10~ (excluding one character) is a bit much. Also Reasons 1 and 2 can be lumped together under "Online" in general. I'd say my 3 reasons:
1. Overpriced for a game that adds nothing new
2. Online needs a big overhaul
3. Limited incentives to continue playing after beating story mode
And for those wondering, yes I did get a chance to play it once, and wasn't too fond of the execution.
