Some games need a fresh perspective and reboots are sometimes the best option. Here are five franchises would benefit from a reboot.
Crysis 2 is one of best online experience I ever had. That game deserve better chance.
Really? Crysis 2 and 3 mp, while fun, needed more content and improved balance. Crysis 2 and 3, had terrible netcoding. Ontopic: I don't think Crysis needs a reboot, as the series was properly finished. Plus Crysis 3 is only 4 years old.
Crysis? Yes, Rage? No Mega Man X Series? No Spyro The Dragon? No Jak & Daxter? Yes My top 5 games that should be remastered or rebooted. 1. MechAssault 2. MediEvil 3. Jet Set Radio 4. Dragon's Dogma 5. Syphon Filter
Syphon Filter! Absolutely.
It tried to appeal to the CoD player too much for my taste, i'd rather they focus on going back to the large battlefield style Crysis Wars.
Crysis 2 and 3, tried to mix and match arena shooter mechanics and with COD-esque loadouts and progression. The game(s) didn't have enough weapons on map, nor did it have enough weapons to justify a progression based loadout system. Many of weapons unlocked in the progression system, would of been better off as pick-ups weapons.
I rarely played mp but I remember trying Crysis 2 after the campaign and I was definitely hooked for awhile.
I'd kill for a reboot of Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. If they put it under a new name and with different characters, they could maybe pull off a revival of the franchise, at least spiritually. .... Gawd, I miss that game. If I can't find the disk itself then I might get it on an emulator, unless it's available in some sort of digital shop. Anyone know if it's available on the PS3? Maybe digitally, unlikely as that is? If not then I might have to hunt down the GC disk in second-hand shops somewhere, then break out my old Wii...
I'd love a follow up to Split Second, that was a hell of a lot of fun to play and would benefit from the increased horsepower of the current gen. Another one is SSX which they tried to reboot but did it all wrong, forget realism just make it absolutely bonkers but with the same trick complexity for pro players. Top drawer soundtrack required too of course.
there is .any games that should reboots, going all the way back to megadrive and snes, I e main one I always said was streets of rage while a previous gen would be battlestation's midway or chrome hounds with those two games on a much larger scale and more players involved.
Since everyone's making lists I'll throw my personal wish list in... 1: Grandia 2: Medal of Honor 3:Red Alert 4: Age of Empires 5: Fear
They are already doing Age of Empires reboot. Medal of Honor and Fear, yes.
My list would include soul reaver, kameo, turok, KOTOR (never gonna happen), and Castlevania
I know Crytek has been on hard times. If Microsofts focus now is releasing Microsoft exclusive content they should buy them out. I think they'd make a great underdog 1st party developer.
Legacy of Kain: blood omen Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Legacy of Kain: Defiance Blood Rayne Berserk (proper hack and slash) Marvel Ultimate Alliance or a DC equivalent Veiwtiful Joe Okami Onimusha Pretty much the entire PS2 lineup
A berserk game with the feel of Dark Souls and a depth of technique, similar to Nioh would be awesome. It would need a story mode without all the ambiguity, though.
1. Socom 2 (remastered) 2. Fable 3. Jade Empire 4. Syphon Filter 5. Splinter cell
Id love to see Omega Boost, The Goonies, Medievil, The Simpsons Barts Nightmares, and Space Harrier. These are a little more obscure titles, but definitely great titles not to be missed.
The Goonies.. lol!! That was a fun game. Glad I was able to play and beat it. That's when Konami was on fire and releasing tons of great games. I still wish they did a Double Dribble reboot.
Thats awesome! The slam dunks were groundbreaking at the time for graphics in double dribble. Great times.
A Sly Cooper reboot would be cool
Half life Stalker Driver (reboot back to its serious roots) Freelancer Hidden and Dangerous Those are my top 5 instant buy remakes
