Game Remakes: Are They Just a Lazy Cash Grab?
The general argument for remaking a game is that it makes it available to a new crowd of people that would otherwise not have had the chance to experience it. Final Fantasy 7 originally came out in 1997 on the PlayStation 1, and whilst it was revolutionary at the time, by today’s standards it is mere polygons and rough sounds. Clearly, there is no set rule for timing on this subject, as Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us was remastered a mere year after its release so people could play it on the new PS4.
