There’s A Reason Why Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Is Harder Than The Original Games

NRM: "Raging at how difficult Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is? Turns out you’re not the only one, and there’s a legit reason why this remaster is way harder."

Seriously it is. Especially the effing stages where you can't die at all for the secret gems, sweet zombie Jesus I've died over 100's of times but hey completely worth the purchase

"sweet zombie Jesus" LMAO!

IKR.

corroios2883d ago

Its good that the game its not to easy

PhantomTommy2883d ago

Not when you're dying for reasons outside of your control. I've lost count of the amount of times I've jumped towards a ledge only to have Crash slip off into a pit because of this "Pill" hitbox nonsense. To be fair though, it's mostly only an issue in Crash 1. The level design in Crash 2 and 3 is nowhere near as punishing and Crash's expanded moveset really helps with the platforming. Started to really enjoy the Nsane Trilogy once I got the first game out of the way.

use the pill hitbox to your advantage, slide of the edge and then jump to the other side

PhantomTommy2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

Yeah, have been taking advantage of that in 2 and 3. You can't slide in 1, though. You have a short amount of time to jump after running off a ledge too but It's not reliable enough, sometimes you just fall to your death.

Foraoise2883d ago

It's literally as easy as the originals. I've played the originals millions of times. The only difference is saving in the first game, which makes it easier. Seriously, N4G? Stop submitting stupidity.

GottaBjimmyb2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

OMG, thank you, I am glad I am not nust going insane. Definitely had no difference in difficulty for me, AND I have somewhat recently played the original prior to the remaster.

I may even go as far as to say I had an easier time with the remaster because the graphics make it much easier to tell where a platform is and exactly it's size (rather than squared pixels) and even tell distances a bit better as depth is much more defined.

I think the real key for the original, since that is the complaint, is using the d-pad almost exclusively. (some sections are easier with analog)

Jman22883d ago

The collision is ever so slightly off on the character, but it think the main issue is not letting you restart a stage if you die. Like the original you have too sit through 2 loading screens to try again :\. You get use to it and do it like second nature eventually but still.

Video of the jumping & hitbox difference.

Jman22882d ago

Capsules weren't used much in the industry because box to box and box to sphere was easier to compute for PS1 hardware.

feraldrgn2882d ago

Not sure how someone can disagree, you can clearly see that the jump has less air time & that landing on edges works differently compared to the originals.

Come on, the game cannot be that bad. I played and beat the original game and it was fun, difficult but fun.

Should PlayStation do what Nintendo does now? Put invincibility mode on their Crash games for you little gamers who want everything in their life to be easy? To pass a level or beat the game without any sense of accomplishment? Will you really enjoy a game that requires less than minimal thinking and effort to play?

If your answer to the last question is "yes", then... Wow mate, thinking must be a real task for you.

Nsane numbers. Can we not get a current patch for the trilogy and CTR 60fps and/or 4K? And might as well release a PC port for NF while you're at it, make it happen!

It was the other day I was thinking of picking up crash team racing because I like kart racers like Mario kart and Team Sonic Racing, but I was shocked to find out that Crash team racing is still 30 fps.
