Spider-Man Homecoming VR Experience Video

CG writes: The Spider-Man Homecoming VR Experience has been released on VR platforms (that’s PSVR, Steam and Oculus Home) where you don the suit and partake in a few web activities before facing off against the Vulture (kind of). It’s short and to the point but serves its purpose as an advert ahead of the movie release. However, one can’t help feel what would a full VR Spider-Man game be like?

Spider-Man: Homecoming is Great Fun, But Insomniac Made the Best Call Going Original

Homecoming was incredible, but should not be ruined with a video game adaptation. Making an original Spidey game was the best decision.

Nitrowolf22846d ago

The issue, imo, with basing it on the movie is that means they have to write it to fit in, they have to have people from outside do stories that they dont want to tell.

Least here theyre given freedom to write the story they want to tell.

Kramerica132847d ago

Hope the game turns out well, but you're probably right that original is the right choice.

I very much enjoyed Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland "In my opinion" did a great job. I was bored with the Boss fight at end, but I can't wait to see where the next movie goes.

Anyways, I'm grateful Marvel partnered up with Sony/Insomniac, and have allowed them to tell the story they want to tell. It already looks absolutely beautiful, from a visual & animation standpoint. And the gameplay looks awesome, and to think, the bit of gameplay they showed was just the tip of the iceberg ( according to Insomniac ) can't wait =)

Homecoming , was okayish.. i liked Tobey's spiderman much much better.... Good decision on going Original Insomniac...

ClayRules20122846d ago

Who did you prefer between Toby & Andrew?

one2thr2846d ago

Tobey was a better Peter Parker than Andrew, but Andrew was a better Spiderman than Tobey.

ninsigma2846d ago

Andrew has been my favorite Spider man followed by Tom Holland. I really enjoyed Tobey Mcguires movies and I thought he was good but I really liked Amazing Spiderman and the new one better.

Ceaser98573612845d ago

I will go with Tobey.. Homecoming was about a kid who was given a suit by Tony, calling all the shots...Its like Tony calls everything in MCU.. LOL! To me it was forced ... Just to add a member to the Avengers team... Andrew was a cool Spider-man too... Homecomings had its moment may be i was expecting to much... Disappointed ...

Review: Spider-Man: Homecoming PSVR Experience – PS4/PSVR | Pure PlayStation

Pure PlayStation: Considering that this experience is completely free and there's no additional costs via in-app purchases, it's worth a look, even if the running time is only slightly longer than the movie's trailers. Hey, who knows, perhaps this is the first step to a fully-realised Spider-Man VR game? We can dream...

It's free. And that's about the only good thing about it. That and the idea in the back of my mind that there could be a good sniper rifle game I thought up while being on the building and girder. Something like silent scope with aim controller

or golgo 13.

We don't need more of this unless it's like batman vr and more length. My suggestion? Buy spiderman movies on 3D bluray and watch those on psvr. You'll enjoy it more.

1Victor2850d ago

I downloaded and try it and for a "free demo " it's quite good left me wanting more like a good demo should. I wish they make it into a full game or at least a optional mini game for the new game.
For those saying it's garbage because it's free is like saying Batman vr was garbage after trying only the training part of the game

Leeroyw2850d ago

If something is free. Then.... Jesus... What do you expect.
TV is free and it's 90 percent rubbish.
At least they tried.

itsmebryan2850d ago (Edited 2850d ago )

it must be pretty bad if the fact that it is free seems to be included in the score. I wonder why they waited their to even put it out?

Servbot412850d ago

If I gave you a piece of poop, but I sculpted it into a flower, would you give it a decent review?

T2X2850d ago

well, it's just a little freebie for the fans. Also a tech demo. You know they're probably going to use this for a full game at some point in the future. Cool though.

welly3002850d ago

Not the best advertisment for psvr.

Aenea2850d ago

Huh?

So a bad regular game is bad advertisement for a console/PC as well?

welly3002850d ago

So your saying its a good advertisment?

Aenea2850d ago

So companies should be way more strict with the content they allow, is that what you're saying?

welly3002849d ago

I think they should ask themselves is this anygood before they release something that could help or hurt sales in the future.

BABY-JEDI2850d ago

I've done a lot of PSVR. The games web types & targets is a good idea but not fully fleshed out. One of my move controllers however lost calibration quite quickly (didn't have this issue with Batman or Rush of Blood). Swinging sensation was good but no distance or direction choices. Give a few years & we will be flying about like spidey. Eye tracking however will be a necessity 😎
