That's great and all but this is why the North American market often ignores Nintendo. Their headquarters are in Japan and they have poor regional representation in North America. They also favor Japan for hardware shipments. If Japan got 1 million units then Europe should be triple that and North America at least triple that.

Moonman2919d ago

I agree with you that Nintendo should ship more Switches (they claim they are going to ship millions this holiday) but your first sentence is not true.

superchiller2919d ago

Because the Wii U was a huge hit in North America? Keep up the damage control, they're going to need it for this new handheld with almost no 3rd party support.

The issue is iPhone and switch both use one particular material. Guess who will get lions share...apple. My two favourite companies. Sad times

Razzer2920d ago

Geez....what are the WW numbers I wonder.

christocolus2919d ago

Congrats Nintendo. Well done.

gbsrnctaln2919d ago

At 17 weeks its on pace with the Game Cube. Not exactly earth shattering, but at least better than wiiu.

septemberindecember2918d ago

It is also out pacing the Playstation, Playstation 4, Nintendo 64, and Playstation 3 in Japan as well.

So it isn't just on pace with the Gamecube...its doing much better than a lot of consoles that ended up selling much better than the Wii U and even Gamecube (at least in Japan it is).

gbsrnctaln2918d ago

And as it is primarily a handheld which is where the japanese gamers go primarily these days...its not really stacking up well at all....even behind the vita...so....

Oddessy and Prime 4 have made me a buyer, but it will damn sure be a second hand one at a lot less than $300.

richyque2918d ago

you got all that just from japan sales,

septemberindecember2918d ago

@richyque

Yes...because all of these numbers are from Japan...the Switch, in the same time period, is outselling the Playstation, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and Nintendo 64 in Japan.

Seriously, did any of you actually read the article?

septemberindecember2918d ago (Edited 2918d ago )

"its not really stacking up well at all...even behind the vita"

Did you read the article? Vita took 43 weeks to reach 1 million units in Japan and the Switch only took 17 weeks.

You're right....got it mixed up with psp.

Fire Emblem: The Three Houses Review - Analog Stick Gaming

"When Three Houses was announced for the Nintendo Switch, I was more hyped for this than almost any game currently available on the platform. While its story doesn’t quite live up to the previous entries I’ve enjoyed, mostly due to some poorly handled reveals and its failure to offer us up a compelling villain, Three Houses succeeds greatly due to its vast replayability with new game plus, and yet another memorable cast to add to the franchise.
