PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Xbox One release date: Here’s when full launch is planned

The new title that’s been taking the PC platform by storm was announced by Microsoft for console during the E3 2017 Xbox briefing.

We also found out that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is NOT coming to PS4 but will instead remain an Xbox One exclusive.

This game looks fun, I will check it out. I wouldn't trust this site on exclusitivity though because I saw folks on Twitter referencing them as well but I also know some very credible folks who said its unconfirmed.
.....this is exactly why I don't understand why people were mad that Microsoft used the term "console launch exclusive" Its plain English which means exactly that nothing more.

This is embarrassing at this point. MS should've waited a year and made a console that doubles as a Windows Desktop PC. We already know that's their game, to merge PC and console gaming.

They don't have the exclusives to compete directly with the PS4 or Switch. They should drop their mandatory Live subscription for online gaming and go exclusively after the market of people who want to game on PC but don't want to go through the trouble of building one.

And Sony should just create their own online store and have PS4 titles on the PC, after all that is what gamers really want. Same with putting PS4 titles on Playstation Now, not sure what the hold up was.

The difference with Xbox Live and other services like Playstation Plus is it creates a universal setting for the gamer where all games, friends, Achievements/Trophies and data tracking is managed for the system for you. On the PC they do have Xbox Live but we also have Steam and other competing services so that would make it hard to justify the price, which is why Windows Live failed years ago in trying to charge the consumer.

This is the quote from their twitter feed.

They also said in their presentation that it was an xbox exclusive.

If there's one thing I've learned about gaming news or news in general is never ever make definitive statements UNTIL it crystal clear from verifiable sources that it's "this" or "that". I'm not saying you are wrong but what Im saying is theres contradictory information available or at least wiggle room in the wording to arrive at 2 different conclusions, heres why:

- The dev himself previously said:

"A PlayStation 4 version is also planned, but that won’t be until after the game officially launches"

-Sure that may have changed with this:

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is coming EXCLUSIVELY to the xbox late 2017"

-But that could also just mean it's launching in 2017 *exclusively on Xbox.

-Ive seen this before, and advised folks NOT to jump the gun, they didnt listen and more often than not its turned out that I was right. Im a veteran of gaming news, trust me until THEY say it's exclusive to Xbox with NO QUALIFIERS attached or straight out say its NOT coming to ps4, then it's coming to ps4 at a later date.

-PLUS unless this is a last minute deal, Microsoft would have advertised "console exclusive" not console launch exclusive". Just trying to help.

They did the same wording with Rise of the tomb raider. Coming holiday 2015 exclusively to Xbox. The thing is the way the worded it was not incorrect. It did launch exclusively on Xbox Holiday 2015. But released on PC and PS4 in 2016.

I agree that it is possible for this to still come to ps4. But the wording is not the same as with games like tomb raider and other timed exclusives. It is frequently stated and worded as "xbox exclusive" by player unknown. Yes it is possible it could change. But any assumption that it is definitely coming to ps4 is just an assumption. The only evidence saying otherwise is an old article. There is currently no evidence for a ps4 version. So yes it could happen, but it can't be assumed it will.
As for the choice of wording from ms, this has always annoyed me. They should just state what is happening without hiding behind ambiguity.

I don't get you guys we see this type advertising all the time yet gamers who follow gaming new and thus should be the most informed continue to fail to err on the side of caution.

Off topic but it reminds of the "true 4K" Scorpio talk, I constantly had to remind a few of my fellow Xbox fans not every game is gonna be native 4K, even Microsoft own words contradicted that so stop promoting that idea.
