Does Microsoft still see VR as the problem child of modern gaming?
The VR Games Showcase has come and gone.
So much stuff has been announced and revealed. We get our first look at games like Grim, Hitman 3 VR, Vendetta Forever and much more.
Here is everything that was announced.
Laundry, cleaning and classic arcade games all in glorious virtual reality
It's sometimes claimed that PC VR usage on Steam is shrinking, but here's why that isn't actually true.
Vr is dope. Idk know why people wanna hate. It's definitely a dope next step. Even if it's a sidestep. I really wish more developers would throw down. Imagine a last of us with vr, or a final fantasy game, all kinds of stuff. It would be incredible.
Major Nelson talking to Geoff about this: "We don't have details? You interested in VR? Yeah? Well, maybe we'll see something..."
So, to be honest, that means they haven't finalized anything at all and are still working on it.
Same thing with the HDD it seems. He says they're aiming for 1TB, but he couldn't confirm it.
I thought they would say at least something but they did say 2018. My guess is with all those MR partnerships on PC, they want to control the PC market by flooding it with windows OS headsets, then push VR and AR hard. All they had to do was announce Vive or Oculus support and that would have helped them in the console industry.
I mean, the idea is sound business in creating a headset standard by getting hardware manufactures onboard. If they get developers onboard too, it would be a win. But with at least 4 windows versions, that means they want control instead. Windows update tools, headset and third party control is their goal.
Just have to wait and see what happens.
Let others fill their stage with VR filler.
