Gazondaily2934d ago

Damn Sony- smashing it out on all fronts. Nice

freshslicepizza2934d ago

I wonder if that means they are adding room scale to PSVR?

Why o why2934d ago

Lol. . Can't catch a break

2934d ago
Overload2934d ago

Metrics are now meaningless. Lol.

KickSpinFilter2934d ago

Moldy not sure why your getting down votes I'm sure that's why they have more room also spaces setup for PSVR units. That's major floor space

Sitdown2934d ago

BecauseImBatman
You must be new here. It's talked about every year, because people like to speculate what it means. Just like we also discuss the length of the shows, and the day it will be on.

Kingthrash3602934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

The extra floor space is for VR huh....wait... doesn't the scorpio have VR as well??
So no VR being shown for scorpio either??
Lol they have like 4x the space of MS who is revealing a new console....lol what MS gunna show on the floor? Scorpio a like 4 games?
When Nintendo has more space than you it's a problem seeing according to most "they have no 3rd party support" (even though they have more games releasing this year than MS) .
This is already looking bad. For MS. All that money and no support..can't wait for E3...it's gunna be full of surprises on one side and excuses on the other. That floor space alone will eat up whatever presence xbox has. Smh.

Before we all crucify moldybread, VR was actually my first thought as well. Whether that was him/ her being cheeky or not, it does make sense. It's still a fledgling medium and it's entirely possible that Sony wants to take this opportunity to sell as many people on it as they can during the expo.

Moving past that, besides VR, it could mean a number of things. Maybe they have some massive multiplayer games to demo. Could be that Sony wants to reduce queue times considerably to make PS4 more accessible to visitors than Scorpio and Switch. There's that very miniscule off chance that they're announcing new hardware like a Vita successor or peripheral. Or, what we all really want to believe, PS4 is getting a crazy amount of games showcased. If it's really just a ton of games, I expect most will be multiplatform with a PlayStation presence. Regardless, we don't need to wait much longer at all.

Soon enough, we'll see.

TheCommentator2934d ago

King, MS says that they're talking about vr in 2018 so, no, MS does not have VR now. I do think that some of sony's space is due to VR needing a larger play area, but obviously they've got more games studios and more games.

We'll have to see why MS chose to put themselves in such good company this year too. They've got a lot of good 3rd party publishers nearby this year...

andrewsquall2934d ago

@KickSpinFilter So Xbox is bringing no VR to E3 then? Is that what the conclusion is that yous came to then? Maybe that is why the negs poured in.

Overload2934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

Apparently MS's E3 presentation is only 60 mins this year.
https://cdn-images-1.medium...

Edit - Greenburg respoded saying it was wrong, the show is typically 90 mins.

morganfell2934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

Booth Space = Games to Show.

2934d ago
FITgamer2934d ago

@BecauseImbatman Then you obviously don't pay much attention because floor space is brought up and reported every E3. Pretty much every time it's Sony > Nintendo > Microsoft.

darthv722934d ago

If they are smart... they will use that space to allow for more people to try their wares than having to wait in long lines. Meaning they double and triple up on key titles instead of single instances.

Skull5212934d ago

Gonna need a safe space after the Scorpio reveal lol

Erik73572934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

Didn't know not having the highest rated exclusive this gen was smashing it

Inzo2934d ago

@BecauseImBatman

Actually the floor space has always been a point of interest when E3 comes around.

AmUnRa2933d ago

Damn Septic-stealthtrolling, it out on all fronts. Not nice😋

Wow. Seems Microsoft dropped 10k sq ft since last year and Sony gobbled it up.

Overload2934d ago

Sounds about on par with how things are going in general.

2934d ago
subtenko2934d ago

Sony be that #1 on Agar.io LOL

pinkcrocodile752934d ago

Maybe Microsoft are going to add a weight restriction by adding a slim entrance to their floor space.

Which would obviously require less floor space over all. lol

maybe only allowing people to operate the turn-style with a stick of celery.

To the question in hand, "frightening" suggests a serial killer with a massive hammer hiding in your room, not floor space .lol

2934d ago
Bruh2934d ago

Yup cause floor space always equates to more games on the show floor. If you're doing multiple VR spaces for a variety of VR titles, theres your need for a ton of space, not to mention the GT Sport floor space last year was massive and thats just ONE game. People really hype random shit up with no clue as to how these things actually work lol

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen2934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

Sony has alot going on in the next 2 to 3 years. I just want more info on megaton rainfall, pollen, and the hum abduction for vr and Days Gone, God of War, Spider - man, Death Stranding, Hellblade, The new game from Sucker Punch and From Software.

Daz2934d ago

Microsoft has fan fest off site we just ignore that. ;/

Razzer2934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

But that is for only 500 people. Versus 10s of thousands.

rainslacker2934d ago

They're not going to show anything at fanfest that they don't have on the E3 floor. E3 floor is for the press, and I guess one day for the public, while fanfest is a limited event to do something nice for some of their fans, who will likely go away saying good things about MS because they got in. Same way Sony does the PS E3 experience.

rainslacker2934d ago

Technically, the amount of floor space isn't directly correlative to the the amount of games or other things they're going to show. They could stock a good portion of that floor space with more stations for the media to play, or have big open spaces for whatever reason.

Not saying that it won't be correlative, just that the floor space itself doesn't really mean much. How it's used is what's important.

We already know that Sony has a lot to show, but not sure how that'll be dispersed throughout their space. Nintendo could indeed have a lot to show, but likely want to have lots of play stations to play their games on, as they aren't prone to having stuff announced far out in advance, so they'll want people playing what is coming soon, instead of waiting to play it. Having the press wait to play tends to irritate them.

MS, I'm sure they have stuff to show. Not sure how they'll use their space, and outside Scorpio, SoT, CD3, and likely a new Forza, they could fill up that space. 17K sq/ft is still quite a bit of space. It's more than 10X the floor space of the average house in America. You can cram a lot of games and systems and stuff into 10 empty houses. that don't have any walls into them.

Pancit_Canton2934d ago

Hopefully next year, Sony would take the addition 17000 sq ft, so Sony have more showcase for their exclusives.

2934d ago
Sm30002934d ago

Damn, that is frightening

LackTrue4K2933d ago

@Septic and Moldybread
Only way Microsoft will ever cover more floor space @ E3 is if they became a janitor.

frostypants2933d ago (Edited 2933d ago )

Well played with the floor layout map. Sony's footprint is insane, and that's before considering that their Europe division has its own space next to it.

Interested to see what Bethesda's got. That's kind of a big space for a company without a whole lot of known stuff coming. Something big is gonna be revealed.

And finally...what the actual F, Microsoft? No more space than a publisher? Really? REALLY?

Void0002933d ago

OMG! I can't wait to watch this year's E3. It has been the most epic year for gaming ever.

Relientk772934d ago

It's over 9000! Square feet of space

Sounds like epic fun, I'd love to go to E3 and play all the game demos

XanderZane2934d ago

Been there, done that. About 10 times actually. Going there just to play games is a blast. Going there to work, have meetings and try to play games between running around, it not so much fun.

AmUnRa2933d ago

O you work in as a gaming journalist then.
Curious i am on what gamingside you write. Or for what gaming magazine.

XanderZane2933d ago

@AmUnRa
My cousin and I created an online gaming website called VGTOnline.com many years ago. Had about 7 other guys writing for it. Didn't really make much money, but the perks of getting tons of free video games from 50+ developers and free game systems was payment enough. Got burnt out after over 10 years of that. Sold the site. Then 3-4 years later my cousin created TheBitBag.com. I didn't do much writing on that site though. He got tired of updating it after several years and sold it. It still exists though, but it's being run by someone else. Got to meet lots of developers, celebrities, etc... I was one of the first people to interview Naughty Dog (Jason Rubin & Andy Gavin). They were going to college (MIT) in my home town (Cambridge, MA). They were making Way of the Warrior for 3DO back then. I still have the interview floating around. Fun times though. Did you work in the business as well?

steven83r2933d ago

Last year sucked. With EA, Activision and Disney not being there, it left a lot of open space. Sony was a let down as well if you planned on playing a game. They required appointments and 4 hour wait times. Hopefully with added space this year we'll get to play something.

XiNatsuDragnel2934d ago

Sony is just dominating this E3

Imalwaysright2934d ago

You're one of those insiders? What do you know that the rest of us don't?

Why o why2934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

shout out to those who know about black adder ........classic

but a few whispers are saying sony wont become complacent. They acknowledge the threat of scorpio so they're not taking their feet of MS's neck. No coasting...No retreat No surrender

Imalwaysright2934d ago

@ Why o why

Wouldn't want it any other way. What kind of gamer would I be if I said no to more games? Keep'em coming.

3-4-52933d ago

@Imalwaysright....exactly why I have XB1,PS4 & Switch.....3DS,psp/vita.....wh y skip out on games access....oh and PC too.

E3 has happened yet, so how can they be dominating it?

subtenko2934d ago

Well you must mean how can they be dominating E3 (since they are dominating in general now) when E3 hasnt started. They are dominating in E3 atm because of floor space, and most likely (again) show time.

2934d ago
