That's pretty lame, physical copies are a big deal. I'd ask for my money back.

Brave_Losers_Unite2951d ago (Edited 2951d ago )

Smh kickstarter developers are retarded. Every one of them gives you guys promises and they are too stupid to fulfill them. That's why people need to do a bit more research before funding shit

DreadfulHero2951d ago (Edited 2951d ago )

I'm not sure what sort of research you can do that would really help in this case. I believe the people involved with this game were all talented people who were involved with some good games in the past. If their product sounds interesting, you invest. However, this case is a little different. They should've just delayed the physical copy, nixed the supplemental only disc, and still given those backers a Steam or DRM-free key until they got their copy.

"But every one of them" is a bit of an exaggeration. I'm sure at this point literally hundreds of games have been backed on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other such avenues. Some have delivered, some haven't. Some have been shady, some haven't. Wasteland 2 was successful and fine. Pillars of Eternity was successful and fine. Mighty No. 9 was not. Yooka Laylee is kind of in the middle ground. This game doesn't seem like it will be successful either. What people don't realize is that you're not really buying a game. You're helping to get it made. If it ends up being crappy, that's on you as an investor... not as a customer. Still, these people got burned over physical rewards, and that shouldn't happen either.

I agree, I didnt know PoE was funded through kickstarter. I just feel like there is more crap than good things that come out of it based on the news that I have read

LOCO2092951d ago

Kinda lame really that this type of stuff is even happening... Guess they will NOT learn til people stop supporting them.
I mean WTF all they have to do is not make the promises if you can not keep them in the first place. Simple.
But this bait and switch crap is completely LAME.
That's the reason for your level (support) goals in the first place devs.

Kickstarter = gambling. You lost. Learn, and move on.

Don't forget they've put a lot of these on gamepass and ps plus so you can add that money to it. Good to see Sega going strong

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
