Injustice 2's Multiverse Mode Is An Example Of Great Single-Player Content For Fighting Games

Hardcore fans of fighting games love playing it against someone else, either locally or online. But there are gamers out there that would love to play the game at their own pace alone.

been loving it. Japanese devs...learn from masters

krontaar2949d ago

I wish ARMS had something like this. Would make the full price tag feel justified.

addictedtochaos2949d ago

Agree completely. Liking it much better than S.T.A.R. Labs from the first game.

Dark_Knightmare22949d ago (Edited 2949d ago )

Same here I never got on with Star labs in injustice 1 but I'm seriously addicted to the multiverse in 2. I think the loot drops help which I'm in love with. It's really impressive how much those loot drops can change your appearance to where it's like there's tons of alternate skins for the fighters that would normally cost money or something stupid and some of them are seriously badass looking. I've always been an average fighting game player so I would never buy one at launch or even down the road but the amount of single player content netherrealm provides especially with their best in class story modes make their fighting games easy day one purchases ever since mortal kombat 9 and I thank them for that. I do wish though that they could have added something like the crypt from mortal kombat x but instead of wandering a graveyard you could have wandered the jla watchtower, star labs or something else D.C.

I've only seen a lot of praise for Injustice 2. Was never in my radar but I think I'll pick a copy up at the stores tomorrow !

Dark_Knightmare22949d ago

I highly recommend you do it's a fantastic game

LOGICWINS2949d ago

Dude, do you know if Multiverse Mode requires PS Plus?

Dark_Knightmare22949d ago

@logicwins you're in luck it doesn't

slappy5082949d ago (Edited 2949d ago )

Just picked it up at the store. Excited to play as Harley whoop whoop!

OhReginald2949d ago (Edited 2949d ago )

Multiverse complements the gear system and the gear system complements multiverse mode. It's almost perfect. I just hate how rare source crystals are...they really made it so it's almost necessary to buy source crystals with real money if you want to customize all the characters. It's kinda of scummy to see them adopt mobile game business strategies with in-game purchases.

Great month, looking forward to Hot Wheels, I really love some good old arcade racing

darthv72992d ago

Heck yeah... love me some hot wheels

CobraKai992d ago

It’s fantastic. I paid full price and it’s worth it

LG_Fox_Brazil991d ago

Of course, these subscriptions cost money, you know?

MrVux000991d ago

Something inherently wrong with that?

Crows90991d ago (Edited 991d ago )

Yeah. Ps plus gives you value for your money. Unlike a different subscription that just takes your money. Hence why Sony where the first at every turn to give what players want or appear to be interested in. Free monthly games...check. subscription service with games ...check. And as always Microsoft goes in to do the same but constantly fails at giving good value. Games with gold has sucked the majority of it's existence. Gamepass is more expensive than ps plus extra and it doesn't give you online or monthly games. Ultimate is the most expensive service and yet it has less high rated games on its service than ps extra.

So yes. We should always judge these services for the value they give.

Mobis-New-Nest991d ago

Hopefully they have God of War Ragnarok, Modern Warfare 2 Remake and Last of Us Remake for December 2022. This selection is down right depressing 😞

FinalFantasyFanatic991d ago

Yeah, nah, they're not going to give us Ragnarok when it's practically just come out, they know they can still make alot of money off that one for another 6 or so months, probably the same with the Last of Us Remake.

Crows90991d ago (Edited 991d ago )

Oh so you want all of the games for pennies. You think that would help the devs much? Gaming isn't a charity business.

another good line-up. Hot Wheels looks interesting. Never played it.
Still hooked in Need for Speed Heat (this month's PS Plus free game)

darthv72992d ago

This just reminded me to nab NFS before it was yanked. Thanks for that.

lucian229992d ago

Looks like another good month. Really was happy with gran blue fantasy last in the current month.

MIDGETonSTILTS17992d ago

I’m so glad I didn’t buy this on sale, albeit now I have to get the dlc

CobraKai992d ago (Edited 992d ago )

I didn’t know Superhot was a non-vr game too.

Mr Logic991d ago

For those that read this, keep in mind that Superhot was a flat game that was later made into VR. It wasn't a VR game that was ported for more sales. Both are worth playing as the levels and scenarios are different in both versions.

The article states Tekken 7 might be the best fighter currently available on Xbox, but leaves out important information that it never takes advantage of the Xbox hardware. It never got any kind of patch/boost/upgrade for the more powerful Xbox consoles, meaning it still runs at 720p I believe, resulting in a very blurry look.

Truly wish more devs would respect their products and customers enough to address issues such as these.
