Spot on with the article. To add to that though, I think NRS have the right idea with the single player content they've added to Injustice 2. I think a lot of players just have no desire to go online and go through that whole learning process in order to not get rekt, NRS games have always been content filled giving casuals and hardcore fans alike plenty to do offline or online, Capcom could learn a lot from their approach.
More like sucker searching. Season passes and DLC Deceivingly Later Content. Both Capcom and Netherealms is bad for this. Even Namco is following in on this bullshit. You just see, they be Ultimate and XXL editions etc. You dont see Blizzard charging players for new characters or maps for Overwatch.
