Sex in games was first implemented on the PC. In 1982 a company called Mystique released the first console based games with sexual content.

Assassin's Creed Animus is a brand-new board game from Mantic Games, the team behind the incredible Halo Flashpoint game.
Will we ever get a good Superman game? Here's how to make the perfect Superman game.
A good opinion piece, a few grammatical errors, but good. I don't mind sex in a game as long as it's done right, it must make sense as to why the couple is having sex.
Here is a problem that not many understand.
Video games should focus on gaming and game play quality. For other types of capitalization of entertainment there are other sources for such entertainments. Video game should focus and stay focused on the classical scheme of: game design, level design, character customization, role playing elements, retro feedback responses, difficulty, puzzle solving, plan-strategy-tactics, rpg elements, level of detail, interaction with the characters and the level, authenticity of the governing rules and replay value.
Other stuff is means wasted budget. The fiasco made by BioWare will make few heads roll over the floor. EA is not pleased with the charlatan's performance and sloppy delivery of Andromeda. The video game industry is a media that must retain the main attributes without getting involved on other markets of entertainment.
Sexual content in games is always so awkward, I don't mind kissing, holding, etc. but when it comes to full on sex it's usually awkward and done weird, I think one of the best thing about games like Persona series is that the romance options are there, but you never see the characters be intimate beyond holding hands, or just telling one another sweet things, the rest is left to your imagination.
Seeing two characters have pretend sex is usually weird, and the only series I think that's done it right are either Sims with the goofy go under the sheets and fool around then come back happy, or Witcher 3 which showed the sex scenes, but the angles and animation were so well done that it felt like a movie scene vs watching two motion capture actors dry hump.
Great video games doesn't need the marketing crutch of sex.
Horizon Zero Dawn.
Warframe.
Shadows of the Colossus
The Last Guardian.
The Witness.
These games focuses on the mechanics and replay value without that marketing. Yes, sex makes sales, but it doesn't make a video game great.
