You definitely don't get the whole story from quest number. Shadow of Mordor is a much longer game than Horizon Zero Dawn if you play it properly and enjoy everything there is to offer from the Nemesis system.

Determining how long a game is by quests is stupid. Dragon Age Inquisition was filled with so many pointless boring filler quests

Quality over quantity for me any day. I like it when there are just enough interesting quests to ensure you visit most of the game world, without resorting to filler content.

Not at all. The witcher is one of the worst in boring quests. Bloated diologue beyond logic, many boring and half assed quests(escorting a goat? And piss off with your missing frying pan lady) witcher 3 to me, is the epitome of quantity over quality.

This other guy - Kurdishcurse - clearly has some issues. The depth of the quest system in The Witcher 3 is staggering, the dialogue is A+, and there is nothing akin to DragonAge/MassEffect with their fetch quests and boring padding.

Well GTAV definitely has over '100 things to do', so would make the list on that metric, but I guess the list only focuses on traditional rpg like mechanics or something.

Not sure of its accuracy, though. Oblivion has over 200 'quests', Morrowind had over 400...Neither are on this list...so...?

This is why i cannot wait for Xenoblade 2. A true open world that i can lose myself in with plenty of side questing. I know many didn't get a chance to play the first title, but if you ever get the chance i recommend it.

The Witcher 3 is still my favorite RPG of all time. Nothing else comes close for me.

My personal favorite will probably always be Tales of Destiny since it introduced me to the Tales series which has since remained my favorite RPG. As far as stories, Grandia II takes that spot for me still.

The Witcher 3 is pobably the best game ive ever played. Took me well over 200 hours for the platinum but well worth it.

Special place in my heart for Witcher 3, really felt like exploring and running into all the side quests just kept it interesting and fleshed out the world. I put in like 200+ hours myself on PS4, even looted every sunken treasure. I haven't even touched the DLC yet becuase I'm considering picking up GOTY for PC and playing the expansions at 1440p ultra. That would be nice.

Both are fantastic games in their own rights. I love each Witcher game and feel they improved(overall) every time, hitting a near perfect zenith with three. New Vegas is a very different beast. I really enjoy both Fallout and ES games from Bethesda and was one of those that even liked Fallout4 and the dlc.

New Vegas, and Obsidian, just tweaked enough and included some epic quests and writing that made it possibly the most amusing and immersive game of its time and one that gets over looked more than is fair. For totally different reasons(mainly the individuality of its visual approach and its fantastic combat and upgrades)kingdoms of Amalur deserves more praise in thus field.

Witcher 3 was impressive not so much for the amount of quests, but the quality of quests. As you can see form this list, quality AND quantity isn't very common in open world games.

On my second playthrough, I cleared The Witcher 3 on Death March New Game+ in 139 hours, including both expansions. It is my favorite video game experience of my life, narrowly edging out The Last of Us, Zelda Breath of the Wild, and Horizon Zero Dawn.
