This website is stupid, just like newnormative and cliqst..all owned by the same people.

And if the post is true and the game is indeed engaging in revisionist history, I will not buy it. They may as well deny the holocaust while they're at it.

UCForce2926d ago

Well, Star war Battlefront 2 and COD WW2 going to have one of those. That's the world we always been live and struggle. People want to take these personal for their own term.

UCForce2926d ago

I'm not gonna lie here. Some people have some concerns about BF 1 that there are too many Black Soldiers in BF1 multiplayer.

annoyedgamer2926d ago

I did too and im brown myself. Its part of the same agenda. All I ever ask for is accuracy and some basic respect. These are, after all, real conflicts where real lives were lost.

slavish02926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

Wft it's a game! It's not really. it never will be real. Its a video game. You will never know the horror of a war by seating on a couch pressing "x". Don't buy the game then or join the damn military if u want to see how real war is. @annoyedgamer u r a entitled idiot what respect have u earned from play a game? Basic respect? Wow, u need to evaluate what comes with a $59.99 purchase.

Allsystemgamer2926d ago

Hey slavish

Why not include t rexes with machine guns?

I mean. It's just a video game right?

Battlefield 1 should have had AK 47 wielding Mexican trans midgets. It's just a game right?

Bathyj2926d ago

@slavish
Yeah its a game, but its a game that is striving for authenticity so it ok to question these things. Or if Tom Hanks had a Plasma Rifle in Saving Private Ryan would we say who cares, its only a movie?

_-EDMIX-_2925d ago (Edited 2925d ago )

@ann-accuracy? I don't understand? So are you doubting that African Americans fought in World War 1?

I had zero concerns regarding accuracy in regards to Battlefield one in terms of the demographics they showed because all of those demographics of actually fought in World War 1 so I'm not entirely sure what you would seriously be concerned about.

@sla- we all understand it's a video game but it's also referencing something that actually happened in real life so why would anybody want to play something that's heavily altered?

I mean when you play a video game is it okay that the game is based on Earth but the sky is green? Or yellow? Do you seriously think the excuse that it's a game flies when the game for fact is based on a factual place and brings no reference to the inaccuracy?

What your actually confusing is making the game like real life with making the game accurate to the references it's trying to actually properly convey.

That's like saying we're watching a biography of someone's life and basically the city ,the state and none of the actual characters behave the way they did in real life ,despite it being a biography, did you seriously think that anyone's as stupid as they use the excuse that it's not real life to have such good inaccuracies? Do you not fully understand that you're actually not comparing the video game to real life but the actual Source material itself?

That's like saying if Gran Turismo releases tomorrow and they are a handful of cars that are factually represented inaccurately in the game that it's okay because if it's a video game , do not fully understand that we're upset about the reference and not that it is a fake game?

LMFAO!!!

If I paid full price for video game based on World War II I would expect that the developers would at least have the courtesy and respect to make sure the people in that game we're representative of the real life people that actually fought in that war it actually doesn't make sense to have a whole bunch of cookie cutter characters when there's tons of source material to display the demographics.

It being a video game is not an excuse to be lazy I don't even understand your point so you're basically saying make it like crap because it's fake?

Buddy if you're an artist trust me don't create things using Source material if you're seriously telling me you're this slow...

But to you apparently it's okay if none of the Nazi soldiers actually look or even sound German because it's a video game right? That's the perfect excuse to for Crappie development correct?

Lennoxb632925d ago (Edited 2925d ago )

Aren't the only black soldiers the sniper class on the American side?

asm1202926d ago

Since it's just a game, how about we add jetpacks and wall running while we're at it

DaigotheKing2926d ago

Slavish is some kind of idiot, the guy never said anything about anyone respecting them, they were asking for respect for the conflict itself and the people who died in it.

ShadowWolf7122925d ago

You-uh... you do know there were female resistance fighters throughout Europe, yes?

Bathyj2926d ago

sigh, of course it is. Were there even female combat soldiers in WWII?

I dont give a damn if games have females characters or not. I like playing with female characters, but dont shove them in where it makes no sense.

The 10th Rider2926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

From what I can find there weren't really women combat soldiers during WW2. On the US side only 400-500 women died during WW2, mostly nurses who died from bombardments and stuff like that. (Not to demean what they do, especially as a nursing student myself, but at least on the US side there shouldn't be women in combat roles in the game).

The 10th Rider2926d ago

To expand a bit. It sounds like women were utilized primarily for auxiliary roles during the war. In the Soviet Union, roughly 3% of the military was female. Most of those women were in auxiliary roles, but a small umber did fight in the air force and anti-aircraft units. I couldn't find a whole lot about Germany, but women did serve in auxiliary roles there and from the sound of things some may have seen combat as the war drew closer to a close and the Allied forces starting invading German land.

In countries that were occupied by the Axis there was a fair share of women who participated in resistance fighting in various roles. However the majority of that was of course, not direct combat.

If anyone finds anything else it'd be great to hear more.

_-EDMIX-_2925d ago

We don't really know the accuracy of such information and we also don't really know entirely how they're going to have women in this Call of Duty.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/...

It is greatly believed that Sniper Wolf character was modeled after this lady.

So I'm not entirely sure how they're going to use women in Call of Duty but they were plenty of women in World War II enough to justify some characters.

Bathyj2926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

Yeah thats what I mean. I'll reserve judgement till I see it but it seems like shoehorning just to have a woman in there. I havent complained in other games because its usually fine if they want a woman have a woman, either makes sense, but this feels like too much. But like I said, I'll wait and see. Maybe shes some French Resistance fighter, not a military Soldier. That could actually work, but if shes some GI in combat fatigues fighting alongside the guys in the line I call BS.

Good luck with your studies,

EDIT, ah, you just said the same thing below.

UCForce2926d ago

I have to agree with you.

Allsystemgamer2926d ago

It's a French resistance soldier and yes there were women. Not many but they did exist.

Bathyj2926d ago

Ha, I actually didnt know. Looks like I made a lucky guess. I suppose its about the only thing that would make sense.

UCForce2926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

Another thing, COD 3 did had one female fighter in Campaign. I think that you played as Polish Special Forces. That's about it. Here : https://youtu.be/vfvWKpSdiY...

472926d ago

As 10th Rider stated, there were VERY few female combatants in WWII, none on the front lines(not counting resistance fighters). Womens roles in WWII were extremely important, however, it wasn't due to fighting. It was primarily in the production and medical sectors of the war.

Rimeskeem2926d ago

There were no females in battle; however, they may be talking about at home or working during the war. Who knows, no WW2 game has ever paid much attention to what was going on at home.

ShadowWolf7122925d ago

There were several women in resistance cells throughout Europe, so there's that. Also many who worked as spies for the OSS.

ZombieGamerMan2926d ago

Okay I can understand different ethnicities cause it was WW2 and you had everyone taking part but I draw the line on lady soldiers cause women did not fight in WW2

ShadowWolf7122925d ago

That's demonstrably false, my dude.

The 10th Rider2926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

Having "a French Resistance fighter named Rousseau . . . playable during the game’s campaign" as a female character sounds okay. But I swear to God, if I purchase the game and I'm playing Omaha beach and there's even one female soldier running around . . . I will break the game disk in half, burn it, and mail it to activision. There's no need to revise history to push agendas.

EDIT: "As Sledgehammer itself noted during the event, World War 2 was not just an American conflict and featured a diverse set of people, including men, women and people of all different ethnicities, and it’s important to represent that."

GTFO, the game's campaign doesn't even open until after the Americans join the war . . . 5 years after it began. It's not just an American conflict, but the campaign focuses almost entirely on the American part of the war? I mean, I'd be fine if they chose that because it's the setting they want, but them for them to try and talk about how it's "not just an American conflict" and how "it’s important to represent that" while blatantly focusing on the American part of the war is just a complete joke.

dRanzer2926d ago

Really hope for massive scales combat and not something like "you are superhero, go to the frontline alone, destroy the AA gun so the allies can be win in the war"
Most be authentic and just epic as well

_-EDMIX-_2925d ago

LMFAO!!!

They're going pull a Mulan on us!

DefenderOfDoom22926d ago

Wow , went to my local GAMESTOP today and the whole store has COD WW2 on all windows and everywhere in the store . They even had COD WW2 baseball hats everywhere with all the GAMESTOP employees wearing them and camouflage netting everywhere. Wow, ACTIVISION spends a ton of money promoting the COD franchise .

_-EDMIX-_2925d ago

Activision are masters of marketing they have marketed Call of Duty to Heights I don't really believe any person ever believe a game could be marketed EVERY SINGLE YEAR!

I think I heard somewhere that they once spent over two hundred million dollars to Market a Call of Duty.

Whether anybody likes Call of Duty or not they definitely changed the industry in regards to help people now see games on a very equal footing as film if not even surpassing in many regards.

Including indies I’ve bought like more than 20 games, good deals all around.

P_Bomb1365d ago

I’ve overindulged too! Gonna pump the brakes on this next round. Unless there’s a PS+ discount. Need a cheap sub for my kid so I’m not always changing primaries.

solideagle1365d ago (Edited 1365d ago )

could you please suggest good indie games (which are on sale)? I love JRPGs or action RPGs but I can play almost any genre e.g. Transistor is £3.74 which I think is a steal :)

shinoff21831365d ago

Check out earthlock. Its pretty good

Old school jrpg try cosmic star heroine I really like that one

Aloymetal1365d ago

Disco elysium, man eater, inside, limbo
Dead cells, observer, to name a few

LoveSpuds1364d ago

Don't sleep on Darkest Dungeon, Child of Morta or Spiritfarer.

Although it won't be on sale, the best indie I have ever played is release in a week or so, it may be 20 quid but you have to play Hades.

GhostofHorizon1365d ago

Told my partner to stop me from browsing. We'll see how that goes, the first part of the sale already got me.

ElvisHuxley1365d ago (Edited 1365d ago )

Anthem 85% off? Thought they went free to play. Has the game gotten any better?
Edit-Nvm, it's Europe anyway.

Hellcat20201365d ago

The second phase of sales is for all regions
It's just not yet showing up in the ps store

Servbot411365d ago

They abandoned Anthem. Typical EA.

CobraKai1365d ago

I can’t believe they’re still trying to sell it

BioShockGX1364d ago

Got Anthem for $5 last year. Not a bad game for that price lol

ElvisHuxley1363d ago

Appreciate the downvotes folks. I guess merely asking a question bothers the incredibly mature users here.

anast1365d ago

I might finally go for Black Desert. I've been playing ESO (without MTing my characters) for some throw away entertainment, but the combat is so "#$&&%.

Servbot411365d ago

BDO sucks. Only good for the character creator.

anast1365d ago

Is the combat worth it?

Phoenixryu1365d ago

I tried BDO a few months ago. It's a decent game but I got bored of it pretty quickly. Combat is very action-based, it's fun but very repetitive. There are a lot of menus and most of the in-game systems are a bit more complicated than they needed to be. Some game modes won't let you buy and sell certain items until you convert to a different mode etc. Basically, the game is kind of convoluted.

phoenixwing1365d ago

The mobs barely react in bdo. You can kill half of a mob of enemies before they'll even attack. You'll basically be grinding mobs until you can fight a boss that will even react well. Don't recommend it

anast1364d ago

Thanks. Is there an alternative to ESO?

phoenixwing1364d ago

@anast I'd recommend playing the single player version of es if you haven't exhausted your playthroughs

EvertonFC1365d ago

Highly recommend the "metro saga bundle" £25 all 3 games and all DLC plus free upgrade for ps5 exodus 😊
