I won't, but the Pro and scorpio should both be plenty for most gamers including myself. Their "close enough" to pc that I'm perfectly fine with playing multiplatform on them and Scorpio will be even better (in theory).

I still like some Pc centric games so have to keep it for them... I might not upgrade as often though (which to be honest has happened less often since last gen anyways). Console power is still less than pc, but 75% of the difference in recent years has been resolution and framerate unless you directly compare them side to side (draw distance and shadows in open world games though are still a big plus--just one example).

I love that my consoles are narrowing the gap as a pc gamer too. They won't beat an enthusiast level rig but those rigs just focus on performance nowadays as 99% of games don't need that kind of power to be playable (sad but true as a pc gamer--we basically can play ultra on a much lower costing card but can't do it at insane resolutions/framerate without spending extra cash).

Not too many people are running games at 4K with Ultra settings on their PCs. A lot of them are still struggling to get to 1080p with conslole graphics.

Check out DF and you'll see that it falls in between a 1070 and 1080 in performance, that was w/ FM6 with ultra settings and 4K and it had room to spare haha

Yeah, MS handed over some hardware with a single testable piece of 1st party software sharing assets with a renderer that was heavily optimized to run on an original xbox one...and then cross referencing that performance against a questionable PC port using DX12 without async compute (because 1080's still barely support that driver side, and didn't at all during the time of that testing)...I'm sure that paints the entire picture as to how more than 3 full Tflops of performance is lost between a DX12 console...and a DX12 PC...and will happen across the board...

So much so that in comparison videos the XB1, PS4 and PC don't look too different from each other at all.

And to me, Steam is just the same as the Android or iPhone appstore. Full of garbage.

I'm not talking about content. I never was. That is the problem with topics like this; console focused individuals want to talk about hardware until blue in the face, but then fall out of the conversation as soon as realistic comparisons are made against the 'claims' of how powerful a console is...and resort back to 'well, PC doesn't have any exclusives, so...' PC optimisation is a case by case basis. Some of it sucks, yes. Some of it...doesn't...No one is arguing that consoles are not more popular and readily accessible for any 'mainstream' type of game. All i was trying to point out was that the scorpio...is not some nearly GTX 1080 equipped PC...it's not, the numbers don't line up, it's not debatable, it's not correct.

As far as content and all that, entirely subjective. I'll spend 30 hours messing around with a mod update for my ancient Doom II wad and be like 'this is the greatest thing of all time'...then, somehow, also understand that maybe that opinion isn't exactly shared with everyone else that plays video games...maybe?

So flip that around...name 5 PS4 sony exclusives that are 'better' than something I can play on my PC that you can't. You can't, and you can't fundamentally because you know nothing about me. Do I like Uncharted 4 more than battlegrounds?...how would you know? Are you aware that maybe some people buy equipment to play games based on the type of games they like to play? It's not like you buy something then set up walls against what is available on other platforms claiming they're 'not as good'...it's only the additional expense isn't worth the value to some. Nothing wrong with that...but throwing around the objective nature of physical hardware, that is where the console crowd truly needs to wake up...you've been left behind about half a decade ago.

I'm on that bandwagon as well.I want to upgrade to the 1080ti but i have to get a better PSU to do..add another $80-100.Also my i5 6400 will be bottlenecking the shiz out of it so I'll be set back another $250-300 for a good processor.Your brand new rig becomes obsolete so quickly these days it's not even worth it.

I'm already going to do that. Actually I don't really have a powerful gaming PC. I was going to build one a couple years ago, but after Diablo 3, Neverwinter Online & Divinity: Original Sin game to consoles, I said, "What's the point?" Most of the PC games I'll want to play will end up on PS4 Pro or Scorpio anyways.

The only thing I still wanted to play on PC was Star Citizen, but who knows when that will be released. I find this site funny as no matter which console the fan bit supports they always move the goal post. Started with ps4 is more powerful then the x one so this is why it sells more. Xbox Scorpio has more power it needs games. From what i remember both the 360 and Xbox one had more exclusives in its 1st few years than then ps3 and ps4 but now Sony are bringing out more later in the gen.

What is interesting though is Microsoft do seem to be working with the gaming community very closely and seeing what they want as well as the developers want rather than what they want like they did with the Xbox one.

Will the Scorpio but a hit i don't know it's hard to tell ESP on sites like this as things like the psv and psvr sounded like they would be selling by the bucket load but did not yet things like kinect that got a lot of stick sold a lot so it's hard to judge.

For me it will be an interesting time over the next 18 months to see how the ps4 pro, psvr are pushed by Sony how the switch will be pushed by Nintendo and how the Xbox one and Scorpio will be pushed by Microsoft. For me it's looking like it could be a good time to be a gamer i just wish i now had more time to game.

microsoft have delivered a great console with backwards compatibility, great free monthly games with gold, the game preview program, they didn't turn down ea access and great games like killer instinct, dead rising 3, ryse, titanfall, sunset overdrive, ori and the blind forest, horizon 2 and 3, quantum break, halo 5, gears 4, motorsport 6 and halo wars 2. yes there's not been much the last 3 months but as long as they show plenty of games at e3 which I think they will i don't see what the big deal is. one thing everyone can agree on is scorpio is a beast

Think he's saying the heads of MS, and the devs who didn't have a part in the design of the console, were surprised what their hardware engineers delivered. On paper, the specs shouldn't be able to do what MS is claiming. However, right now, I don't know if they're claiming what they say will be the case across the board, or if it's just for certain games which will show the kind of improvements that they saw on Forza.

OTOH, it could just be more marketing hyperbole. Spencer has been known for that too.

I'm sure the system will be pretty good though. From what I've heard, it's a nicely designed system with only small compromises for meeting cost concerns that consoles face.

Xbox games have been through a bit of a drought this quarter, but they still have delivered some amazing games which I still play and that Sony do not have an equivent to.
Forza Horizon 3 - absolutely fantastic. Nothing comes close
Halo 5 - brilliant multiplayer
GOW 4 - beautiful and fantastic multiplayer modes
Halo Wars 2 - is there a console RTS that comes close?
Killer instinct - the best fighter then gen (imo)

Titan Falls was amazing, Smite and Neverwinter we're exclusives at the time, and Project spark is pretry cool if you know how to play. I do think guilty gear is better than Killer Instinct though.

@mcstorm it's actually a SAD time to be a gamer. The Switch will be dead in about 2 years, the Pro is straight garbage(better off with a PS4), and we have to wait to see if the Scorpio will have exclusives. To be honest, I was pretty shocker by the announcement of the X1 and PS4. The 360 and the PS3 was doing just fine. I was in the middle of games such as Tomb Raider, Bio Infinite, the Stick of truth, and finishing up my last few achievements for Resonance of fate ( I dare you millenial punks to try and beat that game, let alone get all the achievements), and then I get hit with 2 consoles that struggled to maintain 1080P/60 FPS. And to top it off, the PS4 was pure garbage, and the X1 basically had a sign outside of the restaurant saying " put your cell phones away, take your shoes off, you eat what we cook for you, you better leave a tip, and your going to come here everyday. " it was terrible!!! This generation is plagued wit Remakes, Tons of DLC, and games being super buggy. Toss in mid-Gen upgrade consoles and you have a generation that wasn't needed. You actually needed the Sony 1st quarter onslaught, the announcement of the Scorpio, and the release of the Switch (which is trash) in order to make this generation SOMEWHAT relevant. So I guess the media format dictates consoles now right? After 4k it's 8k and then we'll see a console cater to whatever the media format is huh? It's so funny because when your playing a game, after about 2 weeks, maybe sooner, you're so immersed in the game, you really don't give a F*@! If it's 4k or 1080p. It's just a sad state for gamers!

If the LCD faceplate is in fact going to be on the final product, my initial impression is that I like it a great deal. It appears as though it will display some pretty important information in regards to the game's current performance, and quite possibly other things as well. I'll like it even more if they have allowed for the customization of the face plate, such as color schemes, brightness, text scroll speed, and of course the ability to customize and choose what information is displayed. Just looking at the picture on display, it appears as though they have closely adhered to, drawn from, and iterated upon the design of the One S models. I was personally a pretty big fan of the One S design, and was rather impressed with their accomplishments in the console's 40% overall volume reduction, while also integrating the power brick, and most importantly their managing to still be able to maintain the whisper quiet and low heat performance found in the decisively larger launch model. For a company that in retrospect hasn't exactly had the best of track records in the console hardware design arena, and that's putting it mildly, I felt as though the One S represented Microsoft's best effort thus far, going all the way back to the OG. So, if they have fact chosen to pursue an evolution of the One S design for the Scorpio, I for one won't mind one iota. All of that being said, in looking forward to a rapidly approaching E3, and beyond in the months leading up to the Scorpio's launch, I now am truly hoping to see a Xbox division that reveals innovative new IPs, and a team that can show that they are genuinely focused on, and that they truly understand the massive importance of their continuing commitment to the pursuit and internal creation new, creative, and quality experiences that encompasses everything from AAA experiences, to smaller indie projects, and a willingness to take risks and build up a portfolio that varied with a primary reliance upon titles that are created internally, through the process of building up first party studios, fostering relationships with studios over time, and affording them the freedom to create. If they can do these things, then they can count me among those who will adopt Scorpio on day one. They are going to need to show me, though. The hardware side looks great so far.

XBOX has always been about performance and services. Yes they have great exclusives games, but all systems do. Sony has more, no doubt! But not everyone needs 100 exclusives. Some people want the best online and the best graphics for their favorite franchises (CoD, BF, etc.). And that's what MS brings to the table. The whole exclussives thing is just marketing. Not saying it's not important. But it is an arbitrary metric. The Wii U had many exclusives; did it matter? Also not all exclusives are the same and some third party games are better than exclusives, in which case you want the best version. MS is just returning to the formula that worked for them with the original Xbox, and was greatly effective with 360.
