very interesting: they pretty much confirmed aloy will stay the MC of the game.
more machines - their art director wants a hundred XD.
improvements to weapon switching - they originally had more weapons but scrapped them so switching weapons would be quick.

Nitrowolf22994d ago (Edited 2994d ago )

It would be kind of odd if she wasn't the main character still considering the ending of the game and then some of the side quest dialogue about her saying her work's not done and she'll deal with it after the main villain.

Perhaps when they do the expansion DLC if there is one

Spoilers

Yeah she needs to rebuild Gaia and find Apollo. It was basically why she was born

I'd like to see the DLC based on Elisabets final trip home. Would be sad. Maybe hint in the end she's still alive and got out of the suit somehow. Either that or Rosts revenge mission.

Nitrowolf22994d ago

@Foxtrot

You know, I would mind a DLC like that either, or something during the Machine attack. Its Very Matrix feeling to it TBH. I would at least love to see cutscenes flashbacks of it, it just sounds really cool

I wanna corrupt a tallnevk and have it fight for me

one2thr2994d ago

@Fox

SPOILER

I thought Hades was a computational mutation caused by the Faro virus that infected GAIA and assimilated Apollo, thus causing Sylens to do Hades bidding, as he made both intended and unintended sacrifices for infinite wisdom.

Apollo is Hades bargaining chip, to "control"/ "influence", Sylens.

Well thats what I thought, I gotta replay it, from the beginning.

andrewsquall2993d ago (Edited 2993d ago )

@Prince-Ali Maybe Elisabet set that up so that it would foil or throw off the scent of any machines that went after her. :)

Oh and I WANT Ted to be involved in that. It would be incredible if Elisabet found out what Ted did to her team in the bunker before she got home and personally went and got revenge for them. That fucker did not deserve to live out the rest of his life in a penthouse lol.

I would also like to see more customization for Aloy's equipment, now you can just choose whole costumes but what if you could equip different boots, gauntlets, headpieces, etc.?

Alexious2994d ago

Yes, that would be in line with an expansion of the RPG systems. Maybe adding the ability to choose a companion (or not at all) could be interesting, too!

Chris_Wray2994d ago

Expanding on the universe, not Aloy (As great as she is) would make a great deal of sense. You get to explore further afield, see the world and how it's changed further. Imagine something like "Horizon: New Worlds" set in/around Manchester or London? How about "Horizon: New Dawn" set in/around Tokyo or Osaka.

The possibilities are limitless. Granted, they'll end up sticking to a US region methinks.

ninsigma2994d ago

I would say, they'll keep Aloy (she's an amazing character so no complaints here for that), start off with the world we know from the first but have Aloy travel to another country at some point as part of the narrative.

Sunny_D2994d ago

I think they have to find a location where the enviornements/climates are varied. After playing through Horizon different type of environments, I think it would be hard to like a place that isn't as varied. But then again, this is a thousand years in the future so maybe the climates have changed.

frostypants2994d ago (Edited 2994d ago )

There are parts of Asia and Africa that could work similarly to the western US on that front.

I'd really like to see an entire ruined city...kinda like the ruins in the eastern part of the map in this one, but much larger. San Francisco would be interesting...lots of water, massive hills, and plenty of landscape variety in the surrounding area. The problem with a Chicago or NYC would be that the surrounding area probably wouldn't be epic enough for a game where wilderness exploration is such a big part.

BlakHavoc2994d ago (Edited 2994d ago )

Awesome game but not without its flaws. I'd want better dialogue and voice acting, a greater sense of discovery as there wasn't much to uncover in the map. Side quests were ok but ultimately very forgettable, TW3 has set a very high standard for side quests so it's a high bar to reach. More weapon variety and a greater emphasis on melee combat. And I really loved overriding the machines so I want an expansion of that, give me the ability to ride all machines including flying ones. How awesome would it be to be able to use the machine parts to craft your own weapons? What makes the sequel so exciting is that there are so many things they could improve upon although HZD is so amazing.

Nitrowolf22994d ago

The games was pretty awesome regardless of those flaws, but I agree. this is Guerrilla Games 1st Open World RPG, considering that they have only done Killzone, this is a pretty great start for them

AspiringProGenji2994d ago (Edited 2994d ago )

Witcher 3 sidequest weren't that memorable either. Only the Bloddy Baron quest stood out the most

BlakHavoc2994d ago

Nah to me it had some very memorable side quests. Not to mention the witcher contracts were pretty cool. Much better combat and graphics in Horizon but I'd give dialogue, VO, and sidequests to TW3. With that said, HZD was the better game imo.

Alexious2994d ago

Yes, it is not perfect but you have to consider that it was their first attempt at an open world action RPG.

CD Projekt RED's The Witcher 1 pales in comparison. I would be hard pressed to find a developer that made a better open world action RPG the first time around, there probably isn't one.

BlakHavoc2994d ago

Ya that's also what's exciting, it's their first attempt in a genre the studio has zero exp in. That's why a sequel is so exciting, we usually see the devs original vision realized in a sequel. They get to correct their mistakes while building on what made the original so spectacular.

Flying through the world on a overridden Stormbird would be AMAZING!

UnSelf2994d ago

Riding a stormbird is my dream.

Well without spoilers they've created enough depth and lore to have plenty for Aloy or others to interact with! Really want more from the Horizon world

I love this controller. Feels so nice in the hand. Plus the battery lasts for days, it's crazy.

$100 ?????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????? ???????????????

1nsomniac9h ago

Yea the pricing for Nintendo peripherals is a bigger joke than the game prices. What the hell were they thinking!

Vits9h ago

The thing is, over the past decade, third-party controllers have really stepped up. You can often get better quality, more durability, and stronger performance for half the price of first-party options. Meanwhile, controllers from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have become increasingly mediocre, expensive, fragile, and not particularly impressive across the board. What makes this especially noticeable with Nintendo is that they’re surprisingly open to third-party hardware. That openness ends up highlighting just how much better the alternatives are.

Vits4h ago

Pretty much most things by half a dozen of chinese manufactures. Like, 8bitdo, Gamesir, Machenike, Gulikit, Flydigi, Manba, EasySMX, etc.

The exception would be really low tier stuff by those companies... those wouldn't be better, they would be about the same quality. But more durable.

Themba766h ago

Best controller I’ve ever used I even like more than my dual sense edge

PRIMORDUS5h ago

I have the original pro controller and TBH, I don't use it as much. I'm mostly using the Switch in handheld mode with the Hori Split Pad Compact Controller. I also never use the back buttons to program anything so I will not be buying this one here, so that will be $85.00 in my pocket 😂

Very good dev length for a AAA/AA game I'd say. Companies need to set an aim for this range. 1-2 is too little, I believe 3-4 is perfect. Any more is too much. Games don't need to be these gigantic games full of a crazy amount of content. Just make a good game.

Skate-AK20h ago

Lol. Had no idea who that was, but I will admit they do look quite similar.

Hideo Kojima calls Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 “ideal” for one key reason

Legendary gaming auteur Hideo Kojima heaped praise on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, calling it “ideal” for one significant reason.

gigoran81d 5h ago

Greatness knows greatness. Simple as that. Expedition 33 is a masterpiece, built with a smaller team and with a smaller budget, blowing ubisoft out of the water. It doesn't matter how many devs you have and how much money you throw at it, great studios like Sandfall Interactive will always overcome you.

mastershredder12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

Ideal are you opinions being vacant from any discussion that is not about your own cringy universe Hideo.

The master of Vanity Tech Demos is here to tell us what a good game is. ooooh kay. It's pretty dang obvious without your 2 cents desperately needing relevance. This is just like his GTA grovel a while back. Yuck.

gold_drake11h ago

quite honestly, i havent been able to stop thinking about it ha.

i keep playing it

He’s massively overrated and writes terrible dialogue.
