So many other games to play in the meantime. Putting this one on the back burner until I know it's ready for release.

Artemidorus3004d ago

It's EA so enjoy waiting.

INMATEofARKHAM3004d ago (Edited 3004d ago )

EA does price drops almost as often as Ubisoft... There will be good deals on it soon enough.

(It's not like EA hadn't lost faith in it before release and knew of its clunker status. Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1 both had big ad campaigns on TV yet I've not seen a single ad for ME: A and that's not by some random chance. EA knew and canceled the ads to save money so the pending price drops don't hurt as much.)

Razputin3004d ago

@Artemidorus

Are you kidding me, this game will be on sale before you know it. All their fall (Sept - Nov) releases are on sale on Black Friday for typically 25-50% off especially if they have a bundle set.

I waited specifically for this sale for Titanfall 2 and BF1. I have all their games but I waited for those because I didn't want to support EA with full price. IMO, BF4, Hardline and Battlefront were garbage on release, figured those titles would be too, so I waited. I still haven't even touched those games sans single player.

Critic4l_Strik33004d ago

@Artemidorus

Sure i can wait. There are plenty of other well polished games out there to play in the meantime. Not into paying $60 for a beta release

Artemidorus3004d ago

You won't see a discount til much later in the year. That's what they did with Star Wars.

Sam Fisher3003d ago

They did with titanfall within a couple of months and mind you that game didnt deserve the price drop, so i have hope it will drop

thekhurg3003d ago

@artemidorus

I got it for $30 during launch weekend on PC. Sales happen all the time if you look for them.

Notellin3003d ago

It's definitely not worth any more than 20$. Such a disappointment for me, Mass effect 1&2 were definitely in my top 5 games from last generation.

rezzah3003d ago

It shouldn't take long for the Digital version to have a huge sale on PSN.

You can wait if ya want as cheaper is always better but this is a damn good ME game! Yeah, the beginning has odd animations and a less than impactful opening. But it gets much, much better and in many ways is better than the previous games.

Its much bigger, makes you feel like a new explorer in a strange galaxy. Combat is great as are the worlds and nomad.

MadMax3004d ago

I completely agree. I've been saying the same thing. It's really a good game!

OB1Biker3004d ago (Edited 3004d ago )

I mostly agree but I found the drama with Alec and his son really well done at the end of the first mission. Maybe because of personal reason I found it very emotional. A shame of course the writing and animation was screwed up just after that for a few minutes.
All the internet hate and of course the media feeding on it BC that's what they do give lots of food for thought regarding the gaming journalism on the one hand and how gamers can easily get influenced on the other hand

Kribwalker3004d ago

I think I'll wait till I get a true 4k experience through the Scorpio, and it'll most likely be free in the EA Access vault by then too

notachance3003d ago

It's a good game, but there's just too many high quality games recently that it looks subpar when compared to the rest of them... maybe when there's a complete edition I'll buy it.

3-4-53003d ago

* Exactly. I bought it day one but was still playing other games so I played for 4-5 hours and then put it away and took it back.

I got most my money back, got +30% extra toward The Show 17, so I really didn't lose much and I'll buy it again when it's $20 to really try it out once it's actually a full legit game.

What I played wasn't bad.....it just didn't grab me like Breath of the Wild did......which I'm still playing.

3003d ago
brewin3003d ago

That's a very fair assessment. With so many games to play I really need a game to grab me right from the start or at least the first hour. ME just didnt and it was partly Zeldas fault. What a bad time for anyone else to release anything. Horizon Zero Dawn is the only game that's been able to tear me away from zelda.

Silly Mammo3003d ago

Was planning on buying it before the reviews came out. I bought Persona 5 instead. Will probably buy it once the price comes down and is been sufficiently patched.

jznrpg3003d ago

I like Mass Effect games but with so many great games that are polished already out , specifically Nier ,NioH ,P5 and Zelda to playx thats hundreds of hours to keep me busy so when I do get this it should be close to a final patched up product, I hope

Lionsguard3004d ago

Actually, I bought this for the multiplayer and I already have 130+ hours into it.

InMyOpinion3004d ago

Me too, but the SP is much better than I expected. MP is just as good as ME3. Glad they kept the difficulty. :)

nowitzki20043004d ago

You could put that much into a beta. or early access. I dont hate MEA I like it, it is what it is. Hopefully they learn from this and we all know they can do better with animations.

DarthSocio3003d ago

you bought a Mass Effect game for multiplayer? for multiplayer.........?

Lionsguard3003d ago

Actually I DID buy it for the single player but the multiplayer has kept me busy. I am in no rush to play the single player. I can wait for the fixes. However, the multiplayer was what convinced me to just buy it right now instead of waiting.

3004d ago
i3eyond the Circle3004d ago

It all depends the type of gamer you are to really enjoy ME:A. Just to travel a galaxy reading datapads and planet scans is enough to immerse me in this game. Some things are definitely janky but for the ones stretching out that Codex i believe this game is a welcome addition.

showtimefolks3004d ago

just wait till it's below $20 which will be around blackfriday than buy it. This is my issue with games this gen just look at FF15 the developers have said they plan on fixing story pacing issues among other things

those who buy day one are now game testers, play the game paying full price and wasting your time going through a unfinished game. Than write long articles explaining each and every issue or better yet make videos. developers go through the issue and will fix some of them and those who buy a year later for $20 or less get a much better fully polished product

that's why i am a year or more behind and that gives me time to finish games i bought while other launching now will be fixed in 6-12 months

perfect example is witcher 3 someone like me who is planning to buy it this fall will get GOTY for under $30 with all the DLC and a game which has over the years was patched to fix majority of the things that needed to be fixed

mafia 3 is another game but i am waiting for $15 and under
FF15 $20 and under
mass effect under $20
until dawn under $15

the only games i pay full price for are Yakuza games and ND games(but i still didn't buy UC4 at launch bought it for $20)

now a days play your backlog and don't buy into the hype

you will save money and get games which are actually somewhat finished and somewhat well polished

Critic4l_Strik33004d ago

Actually The Witcher 3 was $35 + both DLCs during the fall steam sale. It might go for the same price during the summer sale

Glak183004d ago

Actually Witcher 3 GOTY has been $24.99 multiple times on sale through Steam.

Until Dawn is constantly $9.99 and below. One of those games stores will start giving it away when you buy a candy bar.

showtimefolks3004d ago (Edited 3004d ago )

Critic I use to buy a lot more games and most sat there while I kept buying new ones coming out. Now I just wait till I am done than I pick up few at a time for cost of one new game

Many games are basically launching in early access

InMyOpinion3004d ago

Deus Ex can be found for under $10 and it's so well worth it.

showtimefolks3004d ago

Yes another game I didn't pick up at Launch which I will if I can find it below $10

3004d ago
OB1Biker3004d ago

Absolutely your doing it the right way. More power to you. I always buy used games or wait when I can. Just like I will buy HZD later on or wish all games were released now so I select the one I get on release and pick up one after another games cheaper later on.
All is fine man but its all personal feeling. You know well how our passion for gaming works. There are some games each gamer PERSONALLY can't wait for and they have to play day one. Because that's the power of our passion for gaming. If I had a time machine and go 2 years to the future to buy a game (this game even if that seems to bother some) then I d do the trip and buy it for dirt cheap like for any game.
However people shouldn't focus their hate on a game in particular and should just move on to what they like.
Don't get manipulated by the media feeding on hate

3004d ago
UnHoly_One3004d ago

Witcher 3 isn't worth 30.

Most over rated game I've played since TLOU.

OB1Biker3003d ago

Theres no overrated or underrated game. there r only gamers who pay too much attention to gaming sites bread and butter ;)

UnHoly_One3003d ago

I don't even know what that is supposed to mean.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

VenomUK161d ago

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast161d ago (Edited 161d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul161d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow160d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake161d ago (Edited 161d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro160d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Mass Effect Companion Tier Ranking

One of the best things about the Mas Effect series is the companions you meet along the way. So here is a tier list of all the companions from Mass Effect!

IAMRealHooman202d ago

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast202d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine202d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast202d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman202d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast202d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

IAMRealHooman202d ago

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein238d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics238d ago (Edited 238d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac237d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992237d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX237d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9238d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne238d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast237d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne237d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog237d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay238d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000237d ago (Edited 237d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon237d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT237d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon237d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139237d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein237d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
