Considering the hardware differences between PS4 and Switch, first impressions are positive for Nintendo's new console.
Sumo Digital brings its bright, colourful platformer to multiple formats - with Switch and PS4 in the limelight for this analysis. The Switch docked version runs at a native resolution of 1200x675, while PS4 sits at 1536x864 - each locked 30fps, though with frame-pacing issues on Switch. John covers the many other visual difference that lay between each.
It seems like every day now, there's at least one game out there that is being given away for free, not that this is a thing to complain about.
Neil writes: "We may be well into May, but multiple delays to the release of the very biggest titles has seen many look to get their gaming fix from other avenues, with independent games on a rise, and that backlog of shame being given a good going over. But there is always room on those hard drives for us to consider further additions to our Xbox libraries, and once more the Xbox Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale is one of the very best ways of getting new games added in, for a very low outlay. That is no different with the latest sale and the one running between the 5th-11th May 2020 provides some very interesting options for those gaming on both Xbox One and Xbox 360."
A number of new deals are up and running on the North American Switch eShop. These include Drawful 2, Night in the Woods, Pikuniku, Revenge of the Bird King, Runner3, Snake Pass, and more.
Incoming crickets...
Sadly.
Woah!! No way!! A brand new console runs a game the "same" as a 4 year old console?! Way to go Nintendo. This is exactly why I stopped caring about Nintendo after the game cube. They're only trying to impress their current fans, they aren't trying to sell to new customers.
I'd hope it could run this game, geezus! The fact that it has visual effects missing isn't great for a 9th gen console... but hey, this is Nintendo.
Wouldn't really expect otherwise from a game like this.
