Nintendo has said nothing since 2014, would be messed up not to honor their biggest fan.

I have nothing derogatory on Robin Williams and in fact wish his family my sympathies, but if Nintendo felt inclined to offer it's 'biggest fan' it would be a near impossible search via millions across the globe.

demonicale2763d ago

He died, get over it. Nintendo don't have to "Honor" anyone,

bouzebbal2763d ago

honor someone who killed himself???
why is that?

MrBrofist2763d ago

What an assholish thing to say.
The man was a legendary entertainer. One of a kind actor/comedian.

He had problems just like we all do

It was just more than he could bare.
Anyone could be driven to the point of suicide .

You're not in your right state of mind when you have these thoughts but fear and depression can overwhelm someone to the point to feeling trapped with no way out and no escape.

I've been there. Thought about it many times before but couldn't bare to put my family through that kind of pain.

If anyone is feeling sad or hopeless and feel like nothing matters anymore and just want to give up, remember you are loved.

You matter. You are worthy to live a long and happy life. Talk to someone before you do anything about your feelings and get the help you need.

The suicide hot line saved my life. They can help.
Decide not to do anything today and
take it one day at a time.

Suicide at the end of the day IS a cowardly thing to do. UNLESS you have no other option due to a disease that is slowly killing you and you don't have much time left.

IanTH2763d ago

@domonicale - Which as it turns out, he did. He was suffering from a Parkinson's Disease diagnosis, alongside mental illness and dementia. He was losing himself more and more with lucid periods coming less and less and had, at most, 3 years left by all accounts and he was already suffering greatly. Try handling that while your health deteriorates AND mental illness, it was likely he felt that was the only way to stay in control of his life.

I definitely feel the need to say that suicide is not the answer in nearly any case - and I wouldn't even suggest it was the right answer in this case. My sister chairs a Youth Suicide Awareness group and it certainly makes you realize how not black & white the issue is - especially with younger people. I will just add to those saying please look to find help if you do have ideations. Things may feel too big to overcome sometimes, but people are there to help, problems can be solved and life can go on.

When I was young and stupid, I used to think suicide was coward shit. Now I know you don't know what real life depression is. It is very real, and it makes life feel hopeless no matter what you do.

I realize most of the world doesn't understand the severity of real depression. Especially thanks to dramatic little idiots "I'm so depressed...". It's very crippling, so don't be an asshole. And since you lack intelligence, try to be smart. Two very different things that get mixed up.

bouzebbal2763d ago (Edited 2763d ago )

Killing oneself or killing another person is the same thing.. you end up killing a human being.
now tell me it's ok to kill someone who has an extreme depression.
pack up your things, i have no sympathy for those people.
The other guy says he's a legendary entertainer, why did he fall short in entertaining himself?

SoulMikeY2763d ago

Same thing huh? You're not even worth the time. The amount of ignorance you breathe is sad.

Blu3_Berry2763d ago

I don't think Nintendo will honor him. I loved Robin Williams, but he died a few years ago now. People have moved on. If he passed away very close to the Zelda launch then it may be a different story.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Zeldafan64274d ago

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

Cacabunga274d ago

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic273d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

Vits274d ago

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

gold_drake274d ago

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

franwex274d ago (Edited 274d ago )

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

babadivad274d ago (Edited 274d ago )

It isn't...

Nintendo not thinking about older Zelda games, "difficult to say" if classic style will return

The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has again commented on the possibility of revisiting the style of past entries in the series – but there are no plans as of now. Speaking with RTL Nieuws, Aonuma said that games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom were possible because of what came before them.

Which is very sad. I still wish we could get a zelda like twilight princess, the dark tone and theme in the traditional style. But times have changed and the masses prefer open world sandbox. Smh. Perhaps we can get a proper hd remake of ocarina of time some day.

CDbiggen413d ago

I played 100 hours of Tears of the Kingdom, enjoyed it, but ready for a game like that next.

kythlyn448d ago

If they can bounce between 2D and 3D Mario games, they can bounce between classic and modern Zelda games too. I thought this was a given when the Switch combined a handheld with a primary console.

Inverno448d ago

Then this is where I part ways. I won't disagree with anyone who says that the old formula was getting stale. And I do think BoTW in a few ways was a step in the right direction, but there's way too much good that was left with the old formula in the transition.

CrimsonWing69448d ago

I want it to. I’m sorry, but these new Zelda games I just can’t get into.

Duke19448d ago

Well that sucks. I still love the classic formula WAY more than the Hyrule Engineering Simulator
