Sony really amped it up at a time that is very critical in this gen. I don't see a lot of people mention that but this year, in my opinion is SO vital in this gen. For Xbox to completely fall flat on its face, and to me it has...subject to their E3 performance, which I have real doubts about minus the hardware, it's just not on.

I do hope Xbox sorts it out because

(1) I'm a xbox fan. I want it to do well. No one can deny that surely.

(2) Competition is key. MS need to step up for all our sakes.

Being a bit weary of my praise is one thing. To completely draw a conclusion that it's some utter bullshit reason like spaceranger or utakin2me come up with is beyond that.

I do wish MS would do better. You probably think I hate Xbox's guts but that is simply not true. I bought all my multiplats on XboxOG. I loved that machine and it was their best console in my opinion. Then MS dropped it practically overnight.

I got a X360 at launch (which had RRoD btw and I had to return it that night) but I supported that console for years, but that turned out to be something Microsoft themselves struggle with, continued support. Also the campaign of harassment against the PS3 by the media and the XB fans even before PS3 was out started to sour my impression of the brand and its following. LEAVE PS3 ALONE!

I never got XBOne. The launch was a disaster and the machine has improved but MS's lack of commitment to making games really doesnt inspire confidence in it. I was going to get one for Quantum Break, but then that turned out not so good, and doesnt sound like a game worth buying a console for. Finally I decided if I ever was going to get one, I would wait and at least get the Scorpio, no point getting a XBox S now with that so close.

BUT, Im taking a wait and see. I need some damn games that I cant play on PS4, otherwise why buy it? I mean the games I want most are Ori and Cuphead. Thats a problem. They look fantastic, but they shouldnt be the biggest reason for me to jump back on the Green Team. I need more. Bring back Crimson Skies DAMMIT.

As I said above, I also would like it if MS did better. I dont WANT them to fail despite how I might read sometimes. I WISH there was more than one console I was interested in, because I've always owned everything until this gen. E3 needs to be killer for MS. And I mean games I want. If its all Scorpio this and Teraflop that but dont show any games that I simply must play, then all the power in the world wont mean jack. Playstation will always likely be my favorite because they grew this industry from a kids hobby to a well oiled machine for adults, but I would always like to see a variety of consoles to enjoy. Same here bathy with the only difference being I never suffered rrod. The scorpio is the only sku that may tempt me......it just has to have games.... ms have to up thier game. The difference is, despite no competition Sony still delivers, and PS1 and PS2 are the best examples of that.
We get too many games that we can even keep up. If you can afford every single game than you work hard and don't have time. If you have a lot of time then money obviously doesn't flow.

The difference is that those yearly/bi-yearly releases aren't really system sellers. Most fans of those titles will have bought the required console the first time around. When you're on your second or third release of a franchise in a generation it's not really going to pull in many new customers.

2018 could potentially look even crazier. More Yakuza, GoW, Spider-Man, Days Gone, SP new IP, and potentially BB2. I think 2017, 18, and 19 will be the years that define the PS4 in terms of exclusives. We're about to reach March and already we've gotten GR2, Yakuza 0, Nioh, and Horizon, all which reached a 80+ meta score. NieR seems like it'll be another critical success too with some reviews already dropping, the two I saw gave it a 9.

I am not sure that there has ever been a single game, that one title, that sells a console on its own.

As a Sony fan since the beginning, it's the promise of all the games you know are coming that sells me on the console on day one. I know from their track record that I will get regular, hugely varied exclusive games. I think it's possible that a particular game can tip you over the edge into buying a console, but I believe it's the sum of the full catalogue and the promise of what is to come that ultimately determines if people buy a console.

i got a ps4pro, i am glad i got one, but seriously,... the so called system sellers have all been a disappointment so far.

I can see what you mean. I feel the games so far have been very good but not quite breakthrough . But I do believe now that the best is now arriving and Sony will strongly deliver. It seems they have a slow start but then really explodewith with the games.

Personally Xbox Scorpio might be great, but let's be honest PS4 has incredible games here now,and on the way. It's to late now for Microsoft in my opinion. With E3 around the corner God knows what else they have up there sleeves to smash MS. And hopefully switch will be in full force with Nintendo showing some great stuff.
