After failing to find the success they deserved in 2011, People Can Fly has resurrected Bulletstorm, and Gamereactor got to try it.
Back in 2011, Epic Games and People Can Fly launched a Call of Duty parody - Duty Calls - that has been lost to the annals of history.
"Duty Calls: The Calm Before the Storm" sounds more like a massive case of the sh**s. 😂
I saw the parody mention, and half expected the ability to drop a deuce on your opponent... I left disappointed.
Hahaha i actually just dropped a review of this game on my channel! I hit all the story beats for anybody too lazy to install it and play through it

Bulletstorm will soon receive a VR remake, but is it worth revisiting? Take a look back at the original 2011 release.
Absolutely. I remember when the game came out on ps360, I thought: "wow, another shooter" and in the 7th gen that wasn't an unfair reaction.
But when the game was re-release on ps4 I took my time an played it (it was on playstation plus at the time) because, ironically, I missed a shooter in that console. And boy, what a fun game! They made a game to be played and not to be watched. It was a fresh air in the genre that deserved better.
So yes. Maybe it find its audience this time.
I got it on PS3 at launch and am still waiting for the long rumored sequel to finally be announced. Currently have it on Switch and wish a physical version of that would be released. Absolutely love it.
I actually feel like this game gets revived all the time, not that I hate the game, I actually quite like it, it's just constantly available, unfortunately I'm not a fan of VR so I'll be skipping this version.
Bulletstorm devs People Can Fly are apparently working on two new AAA projects and are partnering with Square Enix and Take-Two to make them.
"creators of the most insane shooters on the planet –Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment and now Outriders."
I am not a People Can Fly fan. Bulletstorm was their best offering, but the story was forgettable (I have completely forgot it). Their mechanic in the game were fun and interesting, but an over emphasis on thos mechanics made it very repetitive.
Painkiller was ok but not great.
Gears Judgement was absolute garbage.
And Outriders isn't exactly taking the world by storm.
I remember feeling very ripped off when I bought this game 6 years ago.. not going to make that mistake again. It's a very short, very easy game with no multiplayer. What it considered to be multiplayer is an Arcade Mode with scoring points for kills and a leaderboard. It was mildly funny but just rent the game if you have interest in playing it.. you'll be glad you did.
I absolutely loved the original Bulletstorm when it came out on the 360 and PS3, it was a pure adrenaline blast of arcade action, something that had been missing from FPS games for a long time. It has bright, colorful graphics with awesome environments, great weapons, and over the top action. And unlike the many throwaway multiplayer-only FPS games out there, this game has plenty of replayability due to its emphasis on single player content.
I'm really happy that People Can Fly decided to remaster the game for the current generation consoles; already have it preordered for both the PS4 and XB1 and am looking forward to the release. If you're on the fence about the price, you can get Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition from either Best Buy or Amazon for only $40 at launch, IF you have either Gamers Club Unlocked (BB) or Prime (Amazon).
This game was more fun that people gave it credit for back then.
Bulletstorm was a hoot. I loved it and would support any sequels if made by the same teams involved.
This was my favorite FPS last generation. It did so many things different from any other shooter and the kill with skill mechanic in the game was amazing. I will be supporting this on day one. Welcome back Grayson Hunt.
