The PS3 is in trouble, because too many of the big games this gen are now multi and PS3 is pricing themselves out, this whole gen they have been loosing PS2 fanbase just because of price. If they don't cut price, they will be in huge trouble this holiday, the year that was supposed to be PS3's.

It's not really spin. I think Sony isn't worried about the same things that everybody here is. People here on N4G look at each month of each consoles sales and freak out over everything, but we don't know the bottom line or what is best for the company. Sony has 3 systems out on the market and I know they are making money from their games division. The PS3 is going to be around for a long time (what is this year 2 of 10?) and the funny thing is I think Microsoft needs to release the next Xbox soon because HD games evolve and the lack of Hard drive coupled with the DVD space is going to kill them in 2 years which will be year 4 of 10 for the PS3.

PS3 won't lose. None of the consoles will lose. Regardless of how well they do against each other, regardless of how many sales one makes over the other, the bottom line is that they're ALL doing well right now, and the fact that they're constantly trying to outdo the other means we'll get a better PS3, 360 and Wii.

Seriously. Think about it. 360 came first. PS3 came next, PS3 starts taking ideas from 360 and coming up with new ones, now 360's doing exactly the same thing to the PS3. They're constantly trying to top each other. In the end, all we see is that both consoles just keep getting better and better, and soon it'll get to the point where they're both like, amazing. Guess who wins in the end? Us. Because we're playing these amazing consoles.

In trouble? They have out sold their direct competition 6 of the last 9 months in it's own teritory(all 9 world wide). The 360 roars back? It won by 10 thousand units in August(NPD not including PS3 bundles). Thats a roar? It is roaring so much it has had to take deep price cuts all across the board.

People, people, people!

I own all three next gen systems. I am being completely honest when I say this.

1) The wii is only good for wii sports. Only turn it on at parties.

2) The 360 is a coffee holder. I will never buy another 360 title unless Microsoft develops a larger storage medium. 30GIG MINIMUM. And no way! I am not swapping disks... That is not acceptable this gen. I have played all the best games on 360 and nothing comes close to the PS3 exclusives.

3) The PS3 is the true next gen system. I love this machine. I never have to worry about the length of games and detail being truncated due to disk space. Games like Warhawk, RFOM, Motorstorm, R&C, MGSIV, GTA, Heavenly S and soon SOCOM, LBP, RFOM2, KILLZONE 2, etc make this an easy decision.

These comments are based on truth. No fanboy or lies. The PS3 is the best system of this generation.

The point I am making is the 360 is inferior in all aspects.

I have a question for any 360 owner reading this.

Have you ever played any of these games, Drakes Fortune, RFOM, Heavenly S, MGSIV from beginning to end?

If you have (honestly) you will see what I mean. The games are amazing. They are detailed beyond anything on the 360. The AI is also above anything played on the 360.

I played 360s best game. Namingly one I liked (Gears of War). I played it over and over. Found all cog tags etc. But you have to admit that:

a) the game is way too short.

b) The boss battles (besides the berzerker) were pathetic.

c) The online was a pathetic addition to the game.

My point is, the 360s dvd drive is way too small for this generation and I think it is a slap in the face to make games multiple disks to create larger more detailed games.

I dont want to see microsoft get out of the console hardware business because I truly believe Sony wouldnt have made the PS3 this powerfull this generation if it wasnt for Sony.

Competition is great for all of us.

I still believe the truth must be told by an avid gamer who has all 3 consoles.

The PS3 is the console to own (if you only buy one) this generation.

FACT: 360 has SEVEN exclusive games rated over 90% on metacritic.com, the ps3 only has one. So if a consumer wanted to make an informed desicion based on facts, the can say the "truth" is that all the respectable websites and magazines have come up with a combined average total score of all the games out there, and its a FACT, the exclsuive games on the 360 are rated higher, thus considered better than the ps3.

And those are the FACTS coming from another avid gamer.

My opinion, 360 is going to SMASH the ps3, because it's the better system for games, no doubt.

Sony doesn't need to cut the price since they are selling consoles with games? Sony has made two $100 price cuts in less than two years. They alreay made their cuts just to be where they are today. It was a sound business move to cut the price early since it has helped increase console sales, but they are cutting deeper into their profits from the gaming division. Sony is in trouble. They are rapidly losing marketshare and sales are not strong enough to reverse this trend. The 10 year plan is a myth. The only reason the PS2 is on a "10 year plan" is because it still sells and has a huge chunk of marketshare that is still viable this generation. The PS3 will sell as long as demand justifies production. In all honesty, the PS3 didn't make one year before Sony was forced to stip down the console to help increase sales.

Actually, Microsoft tried to buy out Yahoo! but failed and towards the end they even threatened to lower the price of which they will buy them out, if anything, Microsoft would not pay them just to make a minuscule 13 second part in console wars video. For Sony - they said "Sony's in serious trouble" and then they list the price range for the PS3 at $400-500. I didn't know it was $500 bucks for a PS3.

For Microsoft - they went on to describe the 360 and said "with a promise of a great season of games" and the cheapest system available "there's never been a better time to own a 360" - spoken exactly like Microsoft at every conference.

I don't think Sony sees Microsoft as a competitor anymore. The PS3 is twice the price of a 360 and it still outsells the 360! Off course the price drop will help the 360 sell a lot better than it was selling before, but that won't last.

The PS3's lineup of games this fall and during the holiday season is too good for the low price of the 360 to be of concern. There are 3 weeks that you should watch for NPD results, and those are the weeks that LBP, SOCOM and Resistance come out respectively.

But they haven't outsold them enough to surpass them in total sales. Sony needs to outsell Microsoft by 5 million to pass them. That won't be easy at the rate they are selling before the price cuts hit let alone after. It's an interesting position for Sony to be in after dominating the home console business for over 10 years. You also have to keep in mind that Sony owned 75% of the market last gen and pretty much the same the gen before. In order to maintain this market share they not only have to beat Microsoft, they need to crush them and Nintendo.

Always remember this. People are going to buy what they want. The PS3 is currently at an affordable price (399). The current price is not stopping people from getting a ps3. What is stopping people from buying it is the constant delay of key games and features. home was suppose to come out like 2 years ago. Not to mention killzone 2, final fantasy 13 etc. If all of these key things came out on time we wouldn't be having this discussion because PS3 would be number saling like hot cakes. What he says has a lot of valid truth to it. You see, the people who still haven't bought a PS3 all have one thing in common; they didn't like the PS3's price. They didn't like it when it was $600, they didn't like it when it was $500 and they still don't like it at $400. And although these people may have bought the PS3 at $400 for X-Mas this year, the fact that the XBox has a "virtual" pricepoint of $200 now, and the entire mainstream media is touting it as the "cheapest console in the market (whether or not that is actually true)"... makes it really hard for these people to go with the PS3 instead.

Now, let's make one things clear: everybody here loves their PS3 and is excited about the PS3's holiday schedule. That includes me and lighting too, I'm sure.

But the concern here is with those who are planning to buy their X-Mas console in two months. And for them, the $400 pricetag is NOT cheap enough. This is something you guys have to understand; the pricetag is simply too high for a lot of people, so even if the PS3 has been doing better than the 360 for the previous 6 or so months (before August, that is), the projections going forward are not looking so positive. People who are looking forward to the PS3's holiday lineup have ALREADY BOUGHT THEIR PS3s!

So, instead of piling on Lighting because he said something you guys didn't want to hear, try to see his point (and I happen to share it as well) and work from there.

As far as I can tell, he's not being a xbox fanboy. I sure am not being an xbox fanboy either. I really want more people to get PS3s so that more people would play Resistance 2, but it's really hard convincing all my buddies when the system is perceived as being "twice as expensive as the 360". And although I try to do my best in convincing my friends that they should still get a PS3, I worry about the rest of the people that do not have someone like me as a friend and get all their information from places like YAHOO instead. Before the Xbox 360 price cuts, one would think that the Xbox 360 was in trouble because sales had "hit a wall" even with a $279 price point and the PS3 was outselling the 360 in the United States.

Unlike Microsoft, Sony has America, Europe, and Japan tugging on PS3 sales.

The only thing keeping the 360 relevant in Japan is exclusive/timed exclusive JRPG's, but the momenteum that those JRPG's causes in Japan for the 360 don't last for no more than 2 weeks. Star Ocean: The Last Hope is the Xbox 360's Last Hope in Japan, literally.

The bigger question to me is after Gears 2 drops for the 360, what other future game coming out on the 360 will make people buy a 360 in 2009 because right now I don't see any.

Personally I think that Microsoft has run out of system sellers and there's possibly 3 or 4 studios working on Halo games because whenever Microsoft runs out of games, they can always release a new Halo game can't they? The fact that there's so many upcoming Halo games for the 360 just proves the fact that the 360 and the Xbox brand itself is too dependant on the Halo franchise for success.

I don't think there's even been another DOA game MENTIONED as of yet... and there's no telling when we'll see it with the kind of shape Tecmo's in. You can't even be sure it'll be Xbox 360 exclusive. It's likely Splinter Cell won't be seen till 2010 with them having to basically start development all over again. As you said 'maybe' Alan Wake. I'll give you that one though. However, every title that they listed is set to be coming in 2009.

Something I've noticed is that the media is very centered around 'prices'. I do believe prices play their role but I believe it's over-emphasized in many cases. That's not to say I don't think the Xbox 360 is in a good position with its price drop... but I don't believe that the PS3 is now in a bad position because of it. The PS3 has been outselling or going toe-to-toe with the 360 this year in America (worldwide it's doing even better) despite its significantly higher price point. This is happening because people see 'value' in it. I'm not going to make any predictions in this comment, but I don't see how it's in trouble when it's been doing great all year and is just NOW getting out many of its big titles.

Also keep in mind that the Gamecube reached an even lower price than the 360 arcade has, but sales were never really that spectacular for it. I'm not saying that the 360 will follow this same path, but I don't believe there's a 'magic number'. I believe that console hardware sales are moved more by the games than by the price the product's being offered for. Of course if the console is highly overpriced I believe it can discourage buyers a little bit more... but I don't see any of the consoles being 'highly' overpriced. You're getting your money's worth with what you get within the PS3 too. Yes, some may not want or need all of them, but regardless of that it's a bargain for its feature set.

The Wii is perhaps the only console I'd say is a tad too high for what it is... but it's a craze that can't seem to be stopped! I know some believe it's only sold as good as it has because of its low price, but I don't see it that way at all. No, it doesn't appeal to everyone, but Nintendo tapped into a huge audience and people have even been willing to spend ridiculous amounts for one on Ebay.

I know people like to look at it all from a competition stand-point, but no matter who comes out on top this holiday season, each one is almost guaranteed to see fantastic sales. I don't believe there will be a true 'loser'. Just those who do well and those who do better. We'll have to wait and see just who does what.

I'm not sure if you were replying to me, but that's not what I said. I'm basically saying I don't believe price is the MOST important factor. Of course it does MATTER. But it's only one factor. I'm not trying to say that one console is better off than any other... just that you have to wait and see how consumers respond. Almost no one could have predicted the Wii's success! Well, really I'm not sure you can say the multiplatform games are 'better' for the 360 with the ones being released now. The more recent titles have proven to be nearly identical on both. Many past multiplatforms may have been marginally better on the 360, I won't deny that. However you speak of them having the 'same games'... which I think is ridiculous in referrence to any system because you can swing it either way. If the PS3 has the exclusives you want then you can get that console and still have the 'same games' as the 360 as you say. Y'see, I just think with that it then comes down to exclusives. You could turn it all around and say "Why would you buy a 360 other than for exclusives and Live?" I don't think either arguement works partularly well because it's so context sensative and you're almost putting the console's biggest strengths aside and asking "Well what else?" I don't see a reason to strip them down like that.

1. The thing about "Sony conspiracies" always get me around here. An article that has a whole bunch of backwards facts that is never checked and things carefully omitted to promote the view you want without the middle man gets posted, everyone (well, nearly everyone) calls them on their lack of fact checking and says that they don't agree, and then a few people decide to call conspiracy because of said calling, as if everyone who dares disagree with their 360-fanboy-approved article is automatically a Sony fanboy before they even KNOW them. No one here ever said that the PS3 is without it's faults, but this article failed to see that NONE of the consoles are perfect, and they really spun the facts in order to make the 360 out to smell like a rose without even mentioning the reasons why some people aren't rushing to get a 360 right now (hardware reliability woes, not as much of a game lineup this holiday season, NO Blu-Ray (something ELSE they didn't mention that I forgot to add)). Sounds like a talented guy, but not the first guy I'd go to to host a video game news reel) covered the Wipeout HD epilepsy thing, and during their coverage, they had a few very weird images, followed by the thing I thought was completely irresponsible at first, but maybe not AS irresponsible as I first imagined it would be (since it could've been shown much faster than they showed it, but still could concern some REALLY photosensitive people): The scene from the Pokemon TV series (not JUST the episode, but the scene itself) that caused all those seizures in Japan 11 years ago. Now these people slowed the flicker scene to an absolute crawl (reason I thought it was irresponsible was because I thought it was going to be shown at a bit faster speed than they showed it and I clicked away as I didn't want to take the chance, but braved it out later on). Maybe I was just being paranoid (I'm not photosensitive, though I'm sure anyone could understand once you see the way they went about showing that (and waited until the last second to explain that the "censored" the scene) how anyone could be sort of concerned about how much "scene" they would show). Well the problem with your theory is this.

None of real gamers care, besides the bickering back and fourth it really doesnt matter.

Ill explain why. I will use myself for examle, mid 30's, financialy secure, Own all the consoles and all the bigscreens and goodies, have a girl a life and friends. In the big picture im here cause i love the internets, I love chatting etc..

Now in reality the truth is I couldnt give 2 craps about who wins, The same way the wii isnt for me so i dont play it besides the big games like mario. The ps3 that i won doesnt get used unless its exclusives and i play my 360 time to time.
Now in the end if one fails, like any normal human being i will move onto the next console so i can play my games.

Now if i was 11 to 16 years of age then maybe since i have no bills or any sort of adult real world life then maybe somehow it would be imprtant to me if one console beats the other but it doesnt work tat way, becuase we play games not consoles.

Well the ps3 has already lost market share and won't be getting it back. Microsoft's plan on coming out a year early definitely shook Sony's stronghold on the gaming market. So what should Sony do? A price cut? Or keep losing market share? That's a tough question. Sony is still losing money on the ps3 and can't afford another price cut. The 360 on the other hand is still not losing any money on consoles sold even with the price cut. And a huge variety of monster games coming out this Christmas season and you can easily see why the ps3 is in trouble. I think they main problem for the ps3 is the their main horse and that is the cheap bluray player because once bluray players get cheaper its over for the ps3.

And of course the wii is kicking everybody's asses but I put the wii up there with toys like tickle me emo.

I disagree with your sentiment that it's main draw is that it can function as a blue-ray player. I think you're forgetting about the 100 and some odd million of people who brought the previous Ps2 for the games. I'll say it right now and here there's no chance Sony is going to get all those people to buy a Ps3. Just not happening. Ps2 was about getting all the "cool" games and being at a affordable price. It was "cool" to have a Ps3. Now the Wii has tooken it's place as being the "cool" console to have as far as the casual crowd goes. Because lets be honest here out of the 100 million ps2 owners only 2 million or so of them brought God of War.

From a consumer standpoint though i don't really care about sells. Or what Sony plans to do with dropping the price. I already brought my Ps3. The only thing i care about them really doing is solving my complaints. Banging out PSN cards, delivering quality titles (i don't care if they are 1st party titles or not) and expansion on the firmware side of things. Along with improving PSN. I KNOW for a fact in the end all the consoles will be good. MS has solidified themselves as legit console makers and providing many high quality titles. Sony is going through adversities and learning from their mistakes while improving upon things while delivering quality games. And well. Nintendo is wiping their asses with crisp $100 bills.

It really does not matter if the PS3 is in last place. Sony has three, consoles out that are selling. So, it is not like the PS3 is going to go anywhere anytime soon. If, you a PS3 owner why care? You going to still have the best hardware, and you going have a ton of games to play that only you are going to enjoy. People keep saying there is no games for PS3 what are they talking about? We get all the multi games and then some. In the next two years. We as PS3 owners we have some great games to play here is a list to look forward to including multi games.

PS3 is getting some good games. But half of those games are on the 360 too. Just list exclusives cause I want to see what's just going to the PS3. And let's stick to 2008.

The PS3 needs more exlusives before I'd ever buy the console. It's the strongest next-gen console out but it's still got a slim library. I'd probably pick up the PS3 in fall/christmas 2009. Most of the games on this dudes list aren't even out yet.

That video was complete and utter garbage, it came off very fanboyish and didn't really do a lot to help anyone make any prospective buyer make decision on what to buy.

As for holiday sales, I'm not a 360 owner and don't plan to be one but anyone that thinks the price cut won't boost their sales over xmas by a fair amount (at least) is delusional. At the same time anyone thta thinks the PS3 won't sell to a similar degree is equally as delusional.

As for who will sell more only time will tell but really it won't matter to any of us that read sites like this. Each company will have predetermined sales targets for the christmas period and they will be delighted if they meet those targets and ecstatic if they surpass them by a decent margin. As long as those figures shape up right none of the companies, Sony, MS or Nintendo will be "worried".

People can sit here all day and flame each other because their console sold more on any given month but there is really nothing to flame about if your "rival console" isn't meeting the targets their owners set.

Sony don't need a price cut at the moment from their point of view (sales targets), they've been outselling their main rival for months on end and have more software and services coming out to make it's current price not seem unattractive. You see Sony's own numbers are of a lot more relevance than the opinion of idiots like LightningPS3 who thinks that a console outperforming another in every department (other than the online community thus far)all year is somehow in need of a price cut. As soon as the console stops selling as well as it is and stops closing the gap on the worldwide install base of the 360 then they'll "need" a price cut. Or of course when the system becomes cheaper to manufacture the price will coem down just as it did the last time when Sony cut the cost of making the PS3 by a fair margin.

Now personally I think it's be great if Sony cut the cost of it now, there are a lot of active players on the PSN but more is always better, can never have too many but the fact of the matter is until sales figures start to tell Sony something different the price won't "need" to be cut.

There are a million ways to view the situation of each console. However, its obvious right now the xbox 360 is at its sweet spot in terms of games, online and price. The ps3 is great but lets get real... 199$ versus 399$.... to the average uneducated consumer Xbox 360 seems like the better deal although it has the most hidden costs making it really the most expensive.... i think for now microsoft will end getting more the mainstream crowd than sony because of price although the ps3 should be more appealing to them than an xbox 360.

Wii: Profitable from the start. Nintendo made money on every Wii sold since its release and it's the highest selling console right now.

360: MS are making money on each console sold now. I'm sure they finally made back what they lost on the whole RRoD fiasco. Sales not devasting by any means, but steady nonetheless.

PS3: Console not really profitable as of yet. Several reports estimate that Sony has lost more money on the PS3 than it made on the PS2.

I'm not really trying to be a fanboy about this, but really, that's all that matters. Are they making money on their respective console? Sales per month don't mean anything when they're losing money...that's just a figure fanboys use to fan flames. Fans of business wouldn't look at that, they'd look at the company's profits/losses from their gaming division.

Having said that I don't think Sony will lose money on their console for the rest of its life cycle.

I know the ps3 having a bluray player played a big part in me deciding to go ahead and jump on a ps3. With that said.....why does everybody keep naming ps3 games?....believe it or not, some people might not even care about those games........or there might be one or two on the list, which might not be big enough to make somebody jump on the ps3. Currently the ps3 no where has the diversity of ps2 titles, and with crippled backwards compatibility.....as Sony continues to diversify its portfolio...then I believe more gamers will be gained.

First you make the assumption that new cheaper players will not be able to update like the ps3..which is wrong due to hardware moving towards a more unified standard.....as 1st generation bluray players did not have the ethernet port, but more current ones do...allowing for Blue Live. Second, do you not realize that individual's purchase more expensive bluray players even when it was not the best one on the market compared to the ps3....so what would stop similar people from buying a cheaper bluray player? When my supervisor purchased a tv from best buy he was offered a free bluray player...and guess what, he took a regular bluray player instead of a ps3....and his reason being was that he would never play the ps3. So what does that mean....there are plenty of uneducated peopel in the world with regards to this subject.....and they will easily make uninformed decisions based on price and not future proof. So again, it will be interesting to see if cheaper bluray players do effect the ps3.

I´m in Spain right now (holiday, yay!), and all the newsagents up in Barcelona (HELLA FAMOUS CITY) don´t sell XBOX360 magazines offical or unoffical, but are fully stocked with unoffical PS3 and Nintendo magazines everywhere you walk, can´t find 360 stuff anywhere but PC City. So, whos in trouble?

The video mentions the Wii has been out for three years. And when does one company selling out of a product mean every other retailer is out of stock? The Nintendo store here in NYC gets a new shipment everyday. If the Xbox 360s are "flying off shelves" then the PS3 must be too. From what i've seen, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are neck and neck in sales. I bought a PS3 last week, purely in anticipation of WO HD release! Having been a 360 owner since it's release -Yep i got an original that hasn't gone RROD - i gotta say i find the PS3 quite elegant by comparison to the rather 'clunky' and extremely noisy 360.The PS3 is flexible -using industry standard Hdd's etc. It's easy to navigate and understand,online is free and there's some excellent games on the way -finally! Is it better than 360 on games? Naah,not in my opinion, but it's probably as good and getting better.I'm pleased with my purchase so far, and i don't think PS3 is in any real trouble.Seems like a lot of media rubbish,especially when we all know there's no clear winner this gen,we do all know that right?

PS3 - Games machine,free online,free demo's,blu-ray,HD,browser,And many many other options within the ps3's os which have nothing to do with games,Including F@h.

Take a look at what each current gen consoles sells at a month. Then look back to the PS2 days and see how much was sold each month.

The Ps3 is putting up similar numbers back when the PS2 was just getting hot.

It's also odd with how much the RROD crap is thrown around on this site that the system still sells well, even with competition. I got my PS3 online from Circuit City a while back. It was a online offer for the 60 gig, 5 free Blu-Ray movies, and a spare controller for $500. I did in store pickup and noticed Resistance for free with instore buying. Well I got them to give me the game too!. Pretty sick deal if you ask me. Had it not been for me scoring all that free stuff for my PS3, I may have never got one. I also own more Blu-Ray movies than I do PS3 games, by a large margin and that's a bummer cause Im a die hard gamer before a die hard movie watcher. But PS3's games are just now meeting my expectations of my system, with games like Heavy Rain and Killzone 2... as long as games can look that good (but the gameplay better be damn good too, cause graphics don't do ALL that), I will be impressed with my PS3. Late 08 and then in 09 games are just now finally looking the way I think they should've all along with the cell processors/Blu-Ray built in. Feels pretty late to me, but it's starting to feel justified. My back catalogue of PS2 games is getting a lot of play as I never owned as PS2... so Im playing through Shadow of the Collosus right now (absolutely loving it). Recently got GOW2 for $10 also, it's pretty sick!. I love all my systems, only reason I've kept my Wii around is for the Mario franchise, hopes of another zelda, and obviously Mad World!. All in all the only real losers of the console wars are the single system fanboys that can't cherrish or respect a solid gaming expierence on another platform and that is rather sad. Because of Fanboys games are more about graphics than gameplay now a days, games with no online suck, systems with a paid online suck, etc. the list honestly goes forever. Uncharted, Drake's Adventure(Platinum Trophy-No less), Pain, PixelJunk Eden, Warhawk and looking forward to Little Big Planet, which, no doubt will win game of the year. For all the accusations of bias reporting PS3 boys make you can see they have no problem doing it themselves.

The title was approved originally and it should of stayed that way. They can dish it out but they can't take it.

Sony, playing for exclusives, forcing Blu-Ray on people? Where are you getting THESE from? Last I checked, it was MS that paid for timed exclusivity to Bioshock and paid for those two GTA4 episodes that you guys keep wanting to shove down everyone's throats. And, last I checked, no one forced Hideo Kojima to use Blu Ray for MGS4. That's more of you projecting your own faults onto someone else and say that THEY are guilty of it while condemning anyone who dares accuse YOU of that same crime when it's you who's guilty of said crime to begin with and the other guy never had anything to DO with it.

And about your comment before this one, it's funny that once again, you guys seem to think that N4G rules apply to everyone else EXCEPT 360 fanboys, and when you actually are told TO follow them, you cry conspiracy as if the mods are supposed to give 360 fanboys all the free passes they want while making every single other user on this site follow the rules to the letter. The rules state that you cannot change a headline from what it was originally (which was the case, whoever submitted this changed the headline for this submission). That applies to ALL people, and no one is exempt from that. You guys have to follow the rules just as much as we do, and thus, the reason for the reporting of wrong headline (not whining as you thought and tried to get us to believe).

And dishing it out but can't take it? Why is it that I believe that would be the pot calling the kettle black here.

EDIT: By the way, razer, just want to remind you and everyone else, again, that it's NOT that anyone MADE that opinion. Opinions are fine, AS LONG AS you're facts that led you to believe in your opinions are true. For instance, if I was to say that the Wii would own this generation of consoles, I wouldn't be called on that because it would be an opinion (yeah, people might disagree with me and they have every right to do so, but you can't say an opinion is factually right or wrong). But if I were to say that the Wii would win this generation because of it's ability to give us 1080p resolutions for all of it's games, THEN I would be called out for it because the Wii does not have that capability and everyone KNOWS it (the Wii lacks HDMI connectivity, the only cable that capable of such a resolution). Thus, said opinion isn't as valid because the fact I gave was incorrect (if I had said the correct fact, my opinion may have become altered because of such information being presented).

Likewise, here, they said the PS3 is in trouble. Fine, we may disagree (and we do, strongly), but that's not the basis for all the outrage. The reason is that they gave us an incorrect price tag range for the PS3 as fact, and said that there are cheaper BD players out (PLEASE show us examples because that's a bold claim to make without any proof), and failed to even bring up any of the hardware issues the 360 has had (or any faults at all), among other incorrect info about how long the Wii was out on the market (thanks to those that caught that infraction, because I somehow missed it the first time). However, it seems that, with this too, MS fanboys seem to want to try to link the two together and say "if you complain about the facts being inaccurate, you'll be complaining about the opinions too" (sort of like how Buffa tried to shove off complaints about his MGS4 review). Opinions are fine as long as you have your facts straight.

EDIT@cheapndirty: I agree. You know someone will ALWAYS be able to get Contributor points from articles like this, no matter HOW much BS is in the article. Why? Because it gets hits & comments, and in turn, raises the Temp of the article to above 1000.

And by the way, anyone else getting tired of people who disagree because they can or that someone injected too much common sense into the conversation for them to handle (or it provides a viewpoint that hurts their feelings because it's not the viewpoint they DON'T want you to have)?

I agree. Most people who hit the disagree button don't even have enough audacity to debate your comment. If I disagree with someone, I'm most likely going to have my counterargument ready. That's If their comment isn't completely asinine.
