Why You Should "Wait And See" With 'Mass Effect: Andromeda'

With EA having treated games like Titanfall 2 with immense disrespect in the past few years and not seeing too much gameplay footage on Andromeda, should we be worried about this game? BioWare has been quiet about this game since it was revealed, but will it be everything we wanted, or will be much less?

Well using TF2 as an example is poor as the game is quite good. I think the game is going to be massive. Like The Witcher 3 massive. So they were careful what they showed.

He's using Titanfall 2 as an example of how EA throws certain franchises to the side, which this year they did. I think that's a good point.

ThePope3042d ago

I dont think EA threw TF2 aside, I think they honestly thought it would do well where they slotted it. They were wrong and that does happen but they aren't messing around when their money is on the line.

When it comes to ME which is one of the most popular franchises in history. They aren't throwing anything about this game aside.

I think Electronic Arts is simply being careful with what they market and how they Market with Mass Effect simply because they don't want users looking at footage and scrutinizing the final game so I think they wanted to have these gameplay trailers shown only when the game was already to be in a final build.

Gamers absolutely destroyed and criticized The Witcher 3 to just an absolutely ridiculous extant when they found out it was downgraded but at the end of the day it's not their fault considering how the normal game development goes if anything they're only fault was even showing consumers that game from such an early build without figuring out just how much processing would be taken away by core features.

Electronic Arts simply does not want to be put in the same situation so my opinion they were very smart to only start to Market Mass Effect Andromeda when users are very certain that what they're seeing is what the final game will look like so why should Electronic Arts a year or even a year-and-a-half from the released from the game release to show videos just so people that continue to make before and afters and scrutinize?

I personally think how their marketing Mass Effect is very smart they understand how the current gaming climate is and I think it's best they only start showing lots of gameplay trailers in videos and Diaries when the game is already at a final build.

as much as i want to buy mass effect day 1 i'm buying horizon zero dawn and just gonna have to wait awhile before i pick up mass effect. It'll sell well enough for it's debut without me i am sure.

Seraphim3040d ago

the problem for Mass Effect is a very lively release window. Horizon Zero Dawn, Nintendo Switch w/ Zelda, Neir, Ghost Recon, Mass Effect then the following week Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 and another week later Persona 5. As much as I too want Mass Effect, it might be sacrificed for the time being. I picked up a backlog w/ Christmas sales and am slowly working through Nioh right now. Then starting Feb 28 through March; hate to say but it's TOO much for once lol. Even so I think Mass Effect will wind up with pretty strong sales out the gate & do just fine through the course of the year. EA and Bio knows Mass Effect has to live up to expectations and they will deliver.

Why You Should "Wait And See" With... Every Game Ever...
Fixed

NerdStalker3041d ago

No need to wait and see, the original 3 were classics this has to be good at the very least.

I agree even with the Mass Effect games I didn't care for too much I actually still like all the presentation and small Side Stories the game presented.

Mass Effect for me has enough value as a series that it's always going to be a day one purchase for me.

I'm only in it for the story and some of the character development folks lol

Truly amazing!

Draws inspiration clearly draws gameplay inspiration from Assassins Creed and action cinematics from Uncharted!

Powered by UE5!

Definitely on my radar!

Lightning777h ago

Looks very good why wasn't this at SGF?

Obscure_Observer5h ago

Probably because this trailer wasn´t ready yet.

I doubt the developers would miss the opportunity to reveal their games to millions of gamers on four major events like Summer Game Fest, Future Games Show, State of Play or Xbox Showcase on purpose.

This feels like 90% stolen from Uncharted and the guy is also falling or almost falling to often down. Nah this is to much show, something is strange here.

The director of the original Silent Hill: “I look forward to seeing bold interpretations.”

Keiichiro Toyama—the creator and original director of the 1999 Silent Hill—shared his personal thoughts on the recently announced remake by Konami, reflecting on what the project means to him after more than two decades:
“I felt something similar when the game was adapted into a movie. It deeply moved me to see the names of the characters and locations I had created come to life visually, even though I wasn’t directly involved. That wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of the fans and the dedication of the developers who’ve kept the series alive.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how the remake evolves this time. With the advanced technology we now have, I’m sure I’ll be surprised by how the game is reimagined. Since the original was built for the first PlayStation, there will naturally be challenges—like the camera and controls—but I’m eager to see bold and creative solutions to those elements.”

Haha Not only is bold and creatively not what the industry wants, it’s not what most people want.

They want to get scammed and pay twice for a thing they already own.

Nightcrawler896h ago

Hope they use his vision in the game

Inverno6h ago

Was the SH2 remake even bold? Or was it more or less just a 1 to 1 over the shoulder remake?

Pedrof5h ago

I wouldn't hold my breath on "bold".

I feel a new DMC on the horizon.

thorstein2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

New IP, please. Used to be (in the 80s) if it was a Capcom game, you knew it was good.

jznrpg2h ago

Pragmata is a new IP so there’s that. Another one would be nice though

Babadook753m ago(Edited 53m ago)

Honestly Capcom is still somewhat of a seal of quality for me.

shinXseijuro49m ago

Trust me I’m a Capcom baby. Got fond memories of Megaman and all the good library they had on snes 😂 . I always felt bummed Capcom shunned Megaman tho ever since inafune left the company . Pragmata seems like it’s a new Megaman sort of
