Xbox 360 RPGs of 2007

After yesterday's look at the Nintendo Wii, RPGSite decides it's about time they took a look at Microsoft's Media-Center Powerhouse, the Xbox 360. It's a bit of an urban myth that the 360 doesn't have any RPGs – supposedly the Japanese hate it and therefore the amount of RPGs on the console are few and far between. They're about to disprove that with an in depth look at the RPGs set to hit the Xbox 360 in 2007. Featuring everything from Two Worlds to Mass Effect and the return of Sega's Golden Axe.

the 360 only has FPSs. every single game out for it, and every one that will come, are all FPSs.

go to ign.com. look up the releases for both. ps3 has 15 listed RPGs, 360 has 21 listed RPGs. go to gamespot.com. ps3, 20 RPGs. 360, 26 RPGs. they didn't list all of the 360 RPGs, just some of the ones they think will be bigger titles.

They missed Elveon. Which will most likely be 2007. Where as I am figuring Fable 2 and Lost Odessy Q1 2008.

I am glad a huge portion of them are NOT JRPGs. I am not a fan of JRPGs , I am a fan of Western Style RPGs. Of course this is my opinion.

I agree, JRPG's so called "combat" is extremely repetitive in nature. You're going through numerous menus to pick an action that you sit back and watch. However, JRPG's typically have higher production values than American RPG's, so I still play them for the story and characters.

sandbox rpgs like oblivion and two worlds

western rpgs like fable, too human, mass effect, bioshock, jade empire 2 and kotor 3 alien, LOTR: the white council, elveon and kingdom under fire.

japanese rpgs like blue dragon, eternal sonata, spectral diario infinite undiscovery, cry on, far east of eden ziria, enchanted arms, culdcept saga, magna carta and lost odyssey

mmo rpgs like phantasy star universe and final fantasy XI

hack'n'slashers like golden axe and marvel: ultimate alliance.

Keep the variation coming. Now we need some turn based tactical stuff a la fallout/jagged alliance/xcom variety.

Yeah the 360 by far has the best rpgs of 2007! Mass Effect will be the best rpg of the year!!! I'm glad to see new franchises on the 360 and not some infinate sequal rpg! Ahem Final Fantasty ;)
