Brut@l is a well made game with a beautiful visual style and fun gameplay - it is a very polished title that reaches the top end of its peers.
Chalgyr's Game Room writes:
Brut@l has a striking aesthetic that tries to brush up on the ASCII dungeon roguelikes of old and modernize the formula some in the process. In the end, Stormcloud Games gets more right than wrong, though a few frustrating quirks turn the title into a niche title that will not appeal to everyone.
COGconnected says: Brut@l is an initially fun, frantic and visually engaging homage to the silver age of Rogue-likes, but commits too strongly to old mechanics.
The cool thing about Brut@l is that if you die, there will be a code to play the dungeon you were just in. If you chose not to play the same dungeon, you can always let a new one be generated for you. This is great for folks who like to switch things up—if you like to stick to what you know, then using the dungeon code will come in handy.
I enjoyed Platinuming Brutal on PS4. I love the art style and the combat, but imo it wasn't as challenging as the name would suggest. It also has a dungeon creator and co op.
