Josh from TVG writes "Did you ever play the Diablo-esque Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing and think to yourself, “All this running around, killing monsters and gathering loot has me beat. I wish the monsters would just come to me!”? Well, you’re in luck. World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap was made specifically for you."
James writes - "Developers NeocoreGames are certainly no strangers to delving into the adventures of the iconic monster hunter Van Helsing, with two games already under their belts on Xbox One. But now they’re casting their titular character aside to focus on a tower defense and RPG hybrid game, still set in the main man’s crazy world. Considering the generally mixed response to the other games, how will Deathtrap: World of Van Helsing fare? Will the lack of a lead character be detrimental to its success?"
So does this play a little like that Toy Soldiers which had He-Man and the likes in?
Will this last forever? No, but this is an exceptionally well-programmed and enjoyable game that deserves your time.
Games Asylum: "This tower-defense role-playing hybrid may find an unexpected fan base – ‘80s toy enthusiasts. Like classic action figure playsets of yore, hidden traps are the focal point here, varying from monster filled cages to spring-loaded platforms. These slyly hidden booby traps were the highlight of any playset, be it He-Man’s medieval Castle Greyskull or MASK’s far more technologically advanced Boulder Hill. Heck, even The Get Along Gang’s Haunted Badger Mansion had a trapdoor that lead to a dungeon; a toy line based on cutesy greeting card characters, of all things."
