Mario Kart 8 Deluxe producer on bringing the racer to Switch, new additions and improvements

"The team used the Wii U version as a base. As a result, the nature of Switch’s hardware could be better understood by comparing both systems." With that being said, I would have happily paid for all the new deluxe features if they were released for the Wii U version.

There was an article earlier this week or last week saying the new features cannot work on the Wii U, for example being able to hold two items alone will mess up the framerate

Played Mario Kart8 on my Wii Woo since launch. Amazing game but I can't see how a Switch version will make me buy it at full price again.
