1. Mass Effect Andromeda

I've read nothing suggesting its moving away from that, if anything ME2 and 3 were more so shooters with RPG "elements" as you basically got levels forced on you after each mission, as everyone pretty much is in the same ball park level when you beat those games.

This one is promising to be more open ended to allow variation in leveling up

ie more chances to actually level up BEYOND the main quest.

So I'd argue they are more so aiming for what ME1 was vs ME2 or 3.

You forgot Dragon Quest XI though I seriously doubt it will be localized by the end of the year. I really wish it was as popular in the west as it is in Japan because if it was I guarantee it would be a simultaneous worldwide release. Still, better late than never. I've got a huge backlog of games anyway but I can't hardly drag myself away from Hyrule Warriors.
