Nintendo Switch Super Bowl Ad was a Good Showcase, but it Could Have Been Great

Nintendo spent up to 5 million dollars on a Super Bowl Ad during tonight’s big game, but did it pay off?

The majority of the game sucked though. You're only judging the 4th quarter/OT.

Best Super Bowl in eons was 2 years ago with Pats beating Seahawks in Superbowl 49. The game from start to finish was competitive. Though I don't mind comeback games, I prefer evenly matched contest throughout 4 quarters or 9 innings.

But lol@ the Falcons.

I feel like the extended Ad needed to be shown cos it really shows off the system but I understand it cos it'd cost too much.

I agree, the extended ad does a great job of touching on all the different aspects that make the switch unique.

The ad run was good, but I wonder if the extra investment would have made an even greater impact.

I think it would have. The good thing for nintendo is that the word of mouth when it comes out next month will be a big system seller also. Plus people being able to get their hands on it.

I liked how it came on right before the patriots really started turning the game around.

I really hope Nintendo keeps their promise of doing a better job marketing the switch. So far I think they are definitely off to a better start.

We'll see how they ramp up into Christmas.

I agree that there needs to be better marketing. They are taking the steps to doing such, but I would say they have stumbled a bit here and there as well so far. We shall see how it all plays out :)

I thought it was a good commercial as I highlighted in the article, though I do feel as though the extended ad would have been money well spent.

That being said, still cool to see a gaming commercial during the SB. I am sure we can agree that Zelda looks really interesting. Can't wait to review it, personally :)

Not a great ad, to the uninformed it just looks like a tablet you can plug into your TV.

The commercial should of shown Arms as well.

Truly one of the most interesting titles for the Switch.

We know Zelda is going to good, but I think Arms may help usher in people as well.
