D3 biggest problem was the director & anyone who was responsible for this abomination since it was still at the drawing board, this game was destined to be absolute crap since those behind it didn't respect anything Diablo was all about & instead of creating a dark-Gothic-horror dungeon crawler with amazing atmosphere & freedom for players to make their own 'permanent' 'unique' builds, they create a casual, cartoonistic disgusting piece of shit that remind more of WoW than Diablo, they never create this game for core fans but for WoW fans, it have no atmosphere, it doesn't require thinking from players to create their characters, there is no char builds, no stats allocation & there is nothing hardcore about it, in my eyes that garbage can't be called a Diablo game, there was few games that was released since that trash came out that was much more Diablo than this bastardized Diablo/WoW thing Blizz did, PoE is probably one of the best examples.

100%. Blizzard's artists are one note, cartoony, Saturday morning crap, too used to doing WoW and Hearthstone. But it's not entirely their fault when, like you said, the people above are directing the game a certain way. It should have looked like Grim or PoE. And my god, how about the way they treated Cain..? Absolute slap in the face to fans and the character. Killed him in an in-game graphics cut-scene. Didn't even grant him the dignity of a cut-scene sendoff. Pathetic.

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33451d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
