Deus Ex Died Because Every Game Became Deus Ex
The Human Revolution has ended with a fizzle, and not a bang. A recent report from Eurogamer suggested that the Deus Ex series has been placed on indefinite hold by Square Enix. Their report cites the underwhelming sales of last year’s Mankind Divided, as well as a booked schedule for developer Eidos Montreal. Deus Ex proved so influential, it ultimately made itself irrelevant.
