Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Will Not Contain Any Additional Race Tracks, Nintendo Confirms

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will not include any additional race tracks when it releases on the Switch, Nintendo has today confirmed.

Its got new battle mode tracks which was the only thing missing from the game. There's a ton of tracks when the dlc is included and its native 1080p and portable with 8 player LAN multiplayer. 2 peopple can play it with the joy con wjich is cool. It deserves a new lease of life on switch, people who missed out on it are in for a major, major treat!

Foxtrot its listed at £50 . the final price is gunna be £50 for Zelda Argos is the first to set the price other retailers will follow. Final price will be £40 for Mario kart deluxe i did 200 hours on Wiiu but I'm getting it again its THAT good!

It was called out for its lack of battle mode in many reviews. The game is, by far, the best Mario Kart yet and it only has a 89 on Metacritic because they did a half-a**** job with the battle mode and it rightfully got docked points for it.

Was 50 bucks for LOU on PS4 worth it? Sure it was for people that hasn't already played it. Not only did it have improved graphics it doubled the framerate. But it wasn't for people that has already played it. But Sony doesn't have to worry about trying to get people to buy their console.

Nintendo on the other hand should tread a little more lightly they are not in the same position as Sony and really need to get off to a good start. They have already over priced the console, then if you start over pricing the remakes then it's not going to bold well for them. This is not how you're going to get people to buy your console, especially the people that own a WiiU and owned MarioKart.

Yeah, stinks for people that already own the game. If I get a Switch I guess I won't be picking this up until it's cheap. For those that don't own it, though, it's still, without a doubt, worth picking up at full MSRP. It was a huge leap ahead of Mario Kart Wii and battle mode was the only thing it was missing. Other console makers do get called out for it. But not only that Nintendo is not in a position as the other console makers either. They are trying to dig themselves out of a hole. If you start over pricing your console and over pricing your remakes too, this wont bold well for Nintendo.

This actually doesn't bother me at all. We are getting 4 new characters and an all new battle mode, in addition to the already 48 tracks that are in Mario Kart 8. They are more than likely working hard on the next Mario Kart game to come out in 2019, so adding even more here would mean that they have less material to work with for future games. And/or there is a possibility of DLC for MK8 Deluxe and essentially make this a platform style game that just updates over time.

The Main team that makes these needs to get a new game onto the Switch ASAP. It makes no sense to have them wasting time on a game that already took a while to develop when they can start on the next one.

They left some of the team to create the Battlemode (which should have been in the Wii U version to begin with), and the main team can start on the next real Mario Kart game for Switch.

Not an excuse...just reality.

Am I happy that there are no new tracks? Heck no....but battle mode is good enough for me. I didn't get to play the DLC tracks for Wii U so those are still new to me.

I know not everyone has this experience though.

There are no new standard race tracks. It includes the DLC. But there are plenty of new courses for the new battle mode.

From watching the trailer, there are at least 5 new courses for battle mode:
- Splatoon Course
- Lord Bowser Course
- Mario Kart GBA style course
- Haunted Mansion course
- Course with the spinning platform in the middle

There is a big difference, PS4 was trying to get the X-box players that weren't conviced with the Xbox One, most of the sales, where in fact, people that didn't have a Ps3, or people that switched to Ps4 before getting the game on Ps3.
But Nintendo is selling a game that is for the Nintendo fans, lets be honest, who is switching to nintendo from other consoles (those who own other consoles, probably alredy had a WiiU), and the game was released so long ago on the WiiU that noone will tell me that people didn't have time to get it on the WiiU when the only thing u get on the WiiU are exclusives.

So Last of Us remade 1 year after release to get Xbox fans switching to PS4; sure, we'll go with that argument but you cannot say Nintendo porting over Mario Kart 8 is only for Nintendo fans when not many people didn't even bother getting a Wii U. My PC gamer friend and Xbox gamer friend both are gonna get the Switch and plan to get Mario Kart 8 since they missed out on it. I own a Wii U and Mario Kart 8 so I do not plan to buy it.

really saddened to see such a poor showing from both Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart, I'd rather play Galaxy and Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U tbh, because I have it now! Sure, the added portability is awesome, but.... meh, takes more to wow me! Also graphically not enticing me in, artistic direction in Mario Odyssey is absolutely awful compared to past titles too, so far! Not impressed sorry :( Massive Nintendo fan too btw!
