1:42 Much better in Switch and no frame drop, solid 30fps in portable or docked.
Looks identical to this in portable mode, just runs at 720p instead of the higher resolution like it is when docked because it's on your tv.

1:56 more detail in the backdrop for Switch

2:20, more detail in building and you can see trees way back in draw distance that you can't see on Wiiu.

To make this even sweeter, this is just a port touched up. Imagine how good games could look on Switch that are fully developed for it. Blows my mind that this can be portable as well.

I'm old enough to remember yesterday when calling this a port was "ignorant" among Nintendo fans and that THIS would blow our minds. lol

Yeah, compared to that other article with the one pic, this vid shows the difference way more vividly.

Of course there is a difference, but I kept wii u especially for this game.
Looks great on both !!!
When you don't have both version next to each other the differences are unnoticed.

better AA on switch and more colors but that is pretty much it.

NukaCola3032d ago

Switch has better draw and crushed blacks with brighter colors. It looks good.

Wii U has more shadows and incredible lightening that the Switch doesn't have at all.

Overall they are pretty equal. In the end the Switch is just a port version. I am going to play this on Wii U as its what the game was designed for. Switch has to wait

I see the difference.

opoikl3032d ago

But is it really a €300+ difference?

@KingCosmic What was the must have launch title for PS4 or XBOX One? PS4 launched at $400 and didn't see much exclusive support until a year after. The best game I played on the system for the entire first year I owned it was Resogun, and that isn't necessarily a game that required the PS4's power. The XBOX One launched with Ryse and cost $500 with a bundled in Kinect.

You have a portable console priced at $300 and Zelda at launch. It is about on par, if not better in regards to price and a launch title than recent launches.

Why is the Wii U version so much more darker? It also seems to have considerably less detail.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic497d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

gold_drake498d ago

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

It isn't...
