"The release of these titles will still be a while. However, we have many titles releasing this year, and we hope you look forward to any ‘surprises’.”

The two games will most likely see a 2018 release date.

I wonder what he means by surprises. I hope we see another Remake project announced from Square. Or a sequel for their older games like Vagrant Story or Parasite Eve.

Also I have a hunch they might reveal FFX - 3 at e3 this year.

Unreal Engine 4. You should see how KH0.2, DQXI perform before making any prediction.

I loved parasite eve back in the day so a sequel would be great. I figured ff7 remake would not release this year but i def thought kingdom hearts 3 would release.

It hurts me to say that .. I WANT IT TO HAPPEN SO SO BAD !!
But to be honest with you .. i don't expect shocking announcements from them regarding Parasite Eve :(
I hope i'm wrong , i want them to shock me at least for once

I still have hope after Aya Brea's easter egg in FFVII Remake teaser trailer.

Episodic too so just the first episode is some time off? Square don't like to rush evidently.

Artemidorus2719d ago

That's a polite way of saying nothing for 2017.

AnnaDea2719d ago (Edited 2719d ago )

So FF VIIR will be missing it's own 20 years anniversary and the series 30 years anniversary?

Good game, Square. You rushed out FF XV incomplete and now you do this... lol.

kmeck5182719d ago (Edited 2719d ago )

they rushed out FFXV, and now they're NOT rushing out FFVIIR just to meet an arbitrary anniversary date?!?!?!

It would have been nice if they could meet it, but i'm alright with it if they are trying to do it right and not rush it out just because it's 20 years since FF7 came out. It's being broken up into multiple releases anyways so it's not like you'd get the full game on the anniversary.

AnnaDea2719d ago

Game's been in development over 2 years already. And it's even outsourced to other companies to help finished it.

Do we need 3 years+ per episode?

Goldby2719d ago

@Anna

Some of the locations and assets will be transfering over to each episode, so while the first one may take 3 years or so, they will be saving time and money on the next ones when everyon returns to Midgar for example, and not having to re-do cloud and everyone for each episode

kmeck5182718d ago

do you really want them to rush it out just to meet an anniversary date if it's not ready and optimized then yell at them for issues that may have been fixed with more development time to make it right.

Isn’t this is how most PC users feel? That is why they have their head far up a motherboards socket, they fear the world and escape to 0’s and 1’s; thank god for nerds who fear outside or we wouldn’t have games /s

I’d rather devs took their time instead of trying to kill themselves trying to meet strict deadlines. Games end up better that way.
