If you are a gamer, you are bound to have seen some terrible localization. In order to keep that from happening in their game, XSEED members begin every localization project by playing through the game at least once, more if time allows for it. There is no rule that states they have to, but they do this to ensure that everyone involved with the project is familiar with the ins and outs of the game and does not make easily avoidable mistakes. To be honest, this portion of localization for Valhalla Knights 2 (VK2) was tough because it is a very long game. It has eighty quests and twenty dungeons.
This series is destined to be quickly forgotten in the west (it actually has a strong niche in Japan), which is a pity, because there’s a lot to like about these games. They're not for everyone, but JRPG fans looking for something a little different would do well to try these out.
