Shadow Warrior was a cool game, alot of comedy action.. cant wait to try SW2 in all its HDR glory.

FunAndGun2743d ago

Looking forward to it! The first one was a lot of fun and had a lot of character.

stokedAF2743d ago (Edited 2743d ago )

Hopefully April. This year is stacked, I love it! In the first 5 months of the year I'm buying yakuza, Re7, nioh, horizon, for honor, mass effect 3, injustice 2 and shadow warrior 2. That's legit as all hell.

Perjoss2743d ago

I love how much mobility you have in this game, rapidly dashing all over the place to get in and out of danger is so much fun.

BrettAwesome2742d ago

YES! AWESOME! Ther first one was freakin' epic

This Steam Deck-compatible trilogy is now more than $100 off, perfect for fans of action-packed FPS

The Shadow Warrior trilogy is currently listed with a 93% discount on Steam, and you can save more than $100 - ideal for your Steam Deck?

anast18d ago

It's rated as "playable"...it will look jank and probably run like it too.

Number1TailzFan18d ago

Well if it's not good enough for you then just play it on a decent PC.

GhostMirror17d ago

A quick lookup on the Steam store pages for these games and you would have known that the first two games are both ‘Verified’ and the third one being rated as ‘Playable’ has nothing to do with how it looks and runs. When talking shit takes priority over actually knowing what you’re talking about, anast is the guy to show you how it’s done!

anast17d ago (Edited 17d ago )

Let me help. You're welcome.

No use buying the package if only 2 work.

Steam has a criteria : Verified, playable, and yeah right. Many things can happen when the game is only playable.

Here's a complaint about a game running like jank:

"Bought my deck a few weeks ago, been trying to play the spark the electric jester trilogy (all marked as playable on steam) Spark 1 require a bit of fiddling around with but ended up running well enough Spark 2 and 3 though straight up don't work, they crash frequently, but inconsistently enough that I can't find what's actually wrong.

Am I doing something wrong, is there an issue with my deck itself, or are the games just incorrectly marked on the store page?

In the case that this is a common issue and not something specific to me, a game runs but crashes constantly should not be marked as "playable" on the store. I bought these games expecting a relatively clean experience with just having to change some resolution settings, and I genuinely feel kind of cheated because the checks on the steam deck compatibility section don't mention that the games can barely work."

“No use buying the package if only 2 work.”

That’s not the case here, though. The first two games are also purchasable separately as part of this sale and you neglected to mention that both of them are ‘Verified.’

“Steam has a criteria : Verified, playable, and yeah right. Many things can happen when the game is only playable.”

Yes, I understand Valve’s criteria for all three. You don’t, so allow me to clarify: Verified’ games almost always run with no compatibility issues. The issues with ‘Playable’ games are completely different from game to game and Valve lists the known issues for each game; some games have significant issues, other have very minor issues. RE3 Remake, for example, can have minor issues after putting your Deck to sleep while the game is running. Other than that, it runs beautifully just like the RE2 & RE4 Remakes do on the Deck. The issues with ‘Unsupported’ titles vary significantly from game to game as well. Many of them are simply games that Valve has not tested (or completed testing on) yet and actually have no issues at all running on the Deck. I have multiple ‘Unsupported’ titles installed on mine that run perfectly and without issues.

cthulhucultist17d ago

Yeah same here. Lots of unsuported indie horror games that end up being fully playble with standard controls and no issues whatsoever.

Thus far, most unsupported games run fine on Steamdeck but I have run on some issues with some lesser known games as well (do not boot at all despite trying various proton versions) but again those were mostly indie horror games.

Playable games almost always play well and have minimal if any issues so I am not sure what Anast is trying to point out here.

He is trying to frame Steam/Valve, Steam Deck and PC gaming in general unfavourably. He trolls the comments section of nearly every single article that gets posted about PC or Steam Deck with a derogatory (and often false) comment of some sort. Why? Because he has this narrow-minded mentality in which anything that doesn’t have a ‘Sony’ or ‘PS’ logo imprinted on it is trash by default.

I don’t care if he only wants to game on PlayStation consoles. I understand that as adults we all have limited time for gaming and some people find that they just don’t have time to play all the games they want to play on a single platform, let alone multiple platforms, so they choose the system that has the most of the kind of games they like and/or the best feature set for their needs and stick with that. That’s fine, I totally get that. For myself, I prefer to own multiple systems and have access to most amount of games and features. Neither approach is more or less than the other; it’s just personal preference.

What I don’t get is why some of them can’t get over this juvenile fanboy mentality of choosing an allegiance to one company or platform and defending it to the death while attacking everything else. I grew out at that shit when I was 12 years old, in the latter half of the SNES-Genesis era, when I got my first paper route, bought a Genesis as my second 16-bit console and realized “Ohh.. it’s okay to like BOTH.” And I was TWELVE. I find it utterly embarrassing how many toxic fanboys proliferate in the comments sections on this site, because many of them are as old (or even older) than I am, and it reflects very poorly on this hobby, which has already had a very hard time gaining mainstream acceptance as something that’s okay for adults to partake in and enjoy.

I have shadow warrior 2 and am playing it on deck right now. Runs really well and looks good too.

DaMist17d ago

The "playable" label can be something as simple as needing a mouse click on a menu cause controlelrs don't work lol its crazy how many automatically claim a game will run like shit just cause of that label, same with those unverified. take helldivers 2, its unverified on steam because of the mp, not because the game itself doesnt work. just something to keep in mind.

Also, if anyone is looking for a deal on them, both Steam Deck LCD models are on sale right now until July 11th, with the 64GB model going for cheaper than an LCD Switch. Personally, though, I highly recommend the 512GB OLED model; I bought it at launch and did not regret waiting for it.

FinalFantasyFanatic17d ago

I wasn't really impressed with the second game, hopefully the third one is better.

MehmetAlperTR17d ago (Edited 17d ago )

1 st one is the best. Second one is meh. Couldn't play third one because of, it was crashing on my PC.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad672d ago

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g672d ago (Edited 672d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games
