Watch the PS4 Version of Dragon Quest X in Action; Runs at 1080p/60 FPS With Improved Graphics

During a stage event from Jump Festa in Tokyo, Dragon Quest X Producer Yosuke Saito introduced the gameplay of the PS4 version of the successful MMORPG.

I interviewed him at Gamescom for NieR: Automata together with the composer. Actually Saito is quite open and talkative normally, but I was so stoked for NieR that I didn't think about it until I was out of the room >_>

Incidentally, Saito is a Producer, not an exec :D

FF15 is not hack 'n slash, it's not Bayonetta or DMC. RPG and turn based are NOT the same thing. Stop acting like the only real RPGs are turn based.

RPG's fall into three main categories, the first is turn based the second is active turn based and the third is action. Yes, there is a mix but the main categories are what I have just stated.

I am aware that may people like to lump turn based into Japanese RPG's and action into Western RPG's. The problem is I can easily point to plenty of WRPG's and JRPG's that fit all categories. Please don't point to The Witcher 3 as a WRPG since Poland is actually classified as Eastern.

I love FFXV battle system actually its not hack and slash at all

FF15 has some of the best combat I have played in an rpg.

The battles are as fast as any MMORPG, and the running is slow because they're underwater in this gameplay segment. I find the use of traditional Dragon Quest menus a fairly smart choice for combat too. It keeps the HUD clean when it tends to be anything but in your standard MMORPG.

I don't know if you noticed but they are underwater hence the slower floaty animation.

It does look turn based but if it's anything like DQ8 you can customize how your party reacts without manually telling them what to do.

Why do like, every thumbnail include that curiously-hot red-skinned female thing? I've seen that image over 9000 times whenever I see news about Dragon Quest. Yet video footage never actually shows her in the video or news relating to the link provided.
