Would love to see what he could do!

UCForce3111d ago

Even that, I see some VR Games done right. For Example, RIGS Combat League is made by GC. It's got a lot of good reviews for being fully fledged PSVR game.

PFFT3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

It will be the same as with any other VR title out there. Just wait for release and see.

G20WLY3111d ago

I don't understand how it can be. Wouldn't he be done for copyright??

Yes, I'm mocking you, doubter! ;^P

poppinslops3111d ago

So what should they do? Kojima wouldn’t say. “If I said what they should do, then people will just copy that thing, so I won’t say it here,” he explained.

This guy is so full of $#!t... I mean, I agree that VR is a long way from ubiquity, but to suggest that he knows the secret to 'true' VR - one which might keep the platform from going the way of motion-controlled gaming - and withhold it?! He's either the world's biggest asshole, or a compulsive liar... if he spent less time getting his ass kissed, Death Stranding might have a shot at releasing before 2019, but with all the press he's doing I can't see it getting past the 'motion-captured pipedream' phase anytime soon.

Fishy Fingers3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

Go read the source interview and you'll probably find you rant is unfounded.

poppinslops3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

You mean the interview I just quoted?

Edit: Yeah, that's what I thought - nothin' but the clicking sound of cowards 'disagreeing'!

UCForce3111d ago

And why is that ? I think you get disagree. I'm not gonna say you get disagree for good reason. But I will say this, can you be little more senses ?

poppinslops3111d ago

Oh, the irony... I'm sorry, but I didn't get a degree in English to dumb myself down.

Kyosuke_Sanada3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

Maybe he is implementing his notion to Death Stranding and doesn't want anyone else wearing out his idea before release. If I believed that I may have a gold mine, I wouldn't tell anyone where its hidden but then again I wouldn't said that I had one in the first place.

Don't forget the innovations he implemented to both rumble and memory cards with Metal Gear Solid so there is some credence that he may deliver......

poppinslops3111d ago

From the article - 'He said that he hasn’t yet seen anything he “particularly liked”, which makes him want to work on a VR game himself.'

Kyosuke_Sanada3111d ago

That's true but he obviously has an idea that he may follow through with it and some minds change over time. Kojima may well be blowing smoke but I still no reason that prevents him from trying his vision in the future. Ife he doesn't do anything then its safe to say that it was a B.S claim.

JackBNimble3111d ago

Maybe he shouldn't have said anything at all then. He sounds like he's 12 years old with the "I know how to do it better but I won't tell shit".
Get over yourself Kojima

UCForce3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

Here something what he quote: "As a hint, the developer pointed to the Lumière brothers, who created the first motion picture camera over 100 years ago. He explained their invention of moving frames to create the illusion of a moving picture, which has formed the basis of much media for the past century".

poppinslops3111d ago

And? None of that's gonna help VR devs make better games... just sounds like a bunch of pretentious bull$#!t in place of an actual answer.

G20WLY3111d ago

^Guys, we should listen to Poppinslops here. He knows pretentious bullshit when he smells it. He has an English degree and shit like that. Proper smarts, you know? Please tell us more Poppy!

UCForce3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

Let's just say that you are not helping, pal.

Edit : @poppinslops Well, Farpoint is maybe your answer.

poppinslops3111d ago

And who said I was here to help? I'm here to post comments and argue their merit.

Regardless, I do have some ideas as to how VR might be improved - namely hand tracking (eliminating the need for Move/Touch style controllers) and voice commands, which would make VR a more believable and immersive experience... here's hoping the Scorpio uses Kinect as it's VR camera.

TankCrossing3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

Hand tracking is actually pretty decent with controllers, and the haptic feedback is worth the weight or hassle of holding one. I've been really impressed by how well the feedback on the archery game in Steam's The Lab is implemented for Oculus' Touch.

It'd be great if Kinect worked in tandem with Touch, because it could add some full skeletal tracking and also map out the 3D space you are playing in for an improved chaperone/guardian system. Kinect is dead, but someone might run with the good bits.

poppinslops3111d ago

People have already modded their Kinects for similar purposes, though I doubt consumers will see anything like that until 'Project Aquarius'... that said, I suppose it's only a matter of time before miniaturization allows for VR gloves, with dynamic feedback based on in game interactions and individual sensors for each finger - here's hoping they're 'water'proof!

Gatsu3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

You seem to be quite salty. Come back commenting in 2019. Also I think Kojima has more knowledge on how to do VR better than you or many others.

madpuppy3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

Don't sweat it, man.
Kojima's way of doing VR would probably be weird and uncomfortable...like making the VR headset look like a pair of upside down panties and the controllers looking a giant set of cat paws.

one more thing,
To start a game you have to yell "NYAH!" loud into the mike.

UCForce3111d ago

Well, that not Kojima doing.

UCForce3111d ago

Wow ! Your comment is way off. You can comment whatever you want, but if you don't know to use your word carefully , then you have a problem.

JackBNimble3111d ago

Amen brother... Kojima is highly over rated, his head has got to be the size of planet 🌍.

Gatsu3111d ago

Highly overrated lol? People really use that word with everything. Stealth genre wouldn't even be what it is today without him. He also was the one to show how to make games cinematic.

poppinslops3111d ago

@Gatsu: That was 20 years ago... What's he done for us lately? I mean aside spoiling his legacy with The Phantom Pain (an unfinished exercise in repetition) and Ground Zeroes (the demo with a price-tag)... and don't say 'Revengeance', 'cos that game would have been cancelled were it not for Platinum.

JackBNimble3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

He is highly over rated. What's he done in the "stealth genre" Metal Gear Solid?
So let's praise him for MGS? Give me a break already, he has done nothing ground breaking ever and you fan boys praise him like he's royalty.

If he is so dam good and has answers to helping the VR industry evolve out of it's early infantsy, then he should help or shut the f*** up about it. After all if he knows the secret and it became a success because of what he knows, then he would be a legend.... And no, he is not a legend by any meaning of the definition.

BlackDoomAx3111d ago

I have the ultimate idea for VR, better than Kojima's. But i won't tell it too.

TankCrossing3111d ago

Er... Of course I already know how to make VR amazing... But why don't you tell me, just so that I know that YOU know what it is?

G20WLY3111d ago

lol, well we all know that, don't we? It's pretty obvious when you think about it. Like, duh!

Shhhh! Let the other devs work it out for themselves ;^)

ps5fanboy3111d ago

Meaning , death stranding ,as i predicted ,will be v.R ,he won‘t say He'll show.

I love this controller. Feels so nice in the hand. Plus the battery lasts for days, it's crazy.

peppeaccardo1d 4h ago

$100 ?????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????? ???????????????

1nsomniac1d 3h ago

Yea the pricing for Nintendo peripherals is a bigger joke than the game prices. What the hell were they thinking!

peppeaccardo18h ago

i mean for a piece of slightly redesigned plastic with the same take of the last few years this has written GREED all over it ! Shame on Nintendo.

OMNlPOTENT14h ago

It's $85. The standard Dualsense is $75. The Dualsense Edge (Playstation Pro controller) is $200. The Xbox Elite (Xbox Pro controller) is also $200. How exactly is $85 so drastically insane compared to those prices?

Neonridr13h ago

the battery lasts like 10 times as long as a dualsense though.

Stevonidas8h ago

Not true; more like 20.

You may commence with your butthurt, ponies.

fsfsxii6h ago

It doesn't have analogue tho, sooo....

Tacoboto7h ago

$85 USD
or $75 at CostCo (same standard price as a DualSense)

Even at $85, you're getting 3-4x the battery life of a DualSense, and it is (by a HUGE margin) the cheapest first-party console controller with Back Paddles.

Vits1d 3h ago

The thing is, over the past decade, third-party controllers have really stepped up. You can often get better quality, more durability, and stronger performance for half the price of first-party options. Meanwhile, controllers from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have become increasingly mediocre, expensive, fragile, and not particularly impressive across the board. What makes this especially noticeable with Nintendo is that they’re surprisingly open to third-party hardware. That openness ends up highlighting just how much better the alternatives are.

Chard1d 2h ago

Name a better controller

Vits22h ago

Pretty much most things by half a dozen of chinese manufactures. Like, 8bitdo, Gamesir, Machenike, Gulikit, Flydigi, Manba, EasySMX, etc.

The exception would be really low tier stuff by those companies... those wouldn't be better, they would be about the same quality. But more durable.

Themba761d 1h ago

Best controller I’ve ever used I even like more than my dual sense edge

UltimateOwnage17h ago(Edited 17h ago)

Having used Dual Sense, Pro Controller 1, and 8BitDo Ultimate extensively, I am pretty much in love with Pro Controller 2. The easy reassignment on the grip buttons is such a big plus, but the soft edge joysticks are the best feeling sticks of any controller I’ve ever used. It’s really an awesome controller. The HD Rumble 2 also finally has some thud and the headphone jack is great with a pair of good phones. It’s worth the slight price increase IMO.

Profchaos12h ago

The pro controller 2 for me has the best weight and size it fits the hand perfect like the duelshock 4 did imo

I actually dislike the duelsense controller because of its size but the features are amazing on it.

Still as for the pro 2 no analog triggers is surprisingly something I dont actually miss

PRIMORDUS23h ago

I have the original pro controller and TBH, I don't use it as much. I'm mostly using the Switch in handheld mode with the Hori Split Pad Compact Controller. I also never use the back buttons to program anything so I will not be buying this one here, so that will be $85.00 in my pocket 😂

Very good dev length for a AAA/AA game I'd say. Companies need to set an aim for this range. 1-2 is too little, I believe 3-4 is perfect. Any more is too much. Games don't need to be these gigantic games full of a crazy amount of content. Just make a good game.

Skate-AK1d 15h ago

Lol. Had no idea who that was, but I will admit they do look quite similar.

Greatness knows greatness. Simple as that. Expedition 33 is a masterpiece, built with a smaller team and with a smaller budget, blowing ubisoft out of the water. It doesn't matter how many devs you have and how much money you throw at it, great studios like Sandfall Interactive will always overcome you.

PrecursorOrb1d 8h ago

Kojima states the obvious lol

mastershredder1d 6h ago (Edited 1d 6h ago )

Ideal are you opinions being vacant from any discussion that is not about your own cringy universe Hideo.

The master of Vanity Tech Demos is here to tell us what a good game is. ooooh kay. It's pretty dang obvious without your 2 cents desperately needing relevance. This is just like his GTA grovel a while back. Yuck.

gold_drake1d 6h ago

quite honestly, i havent been able to stop thinking about it ha.

i keep playing it

He’s massively overrated and writes terrible dialogue.
