Resident Evil 7: Capcom would like to see only 9:10 in review ratings

In a recent interview published on MCV UK, Antoine Molan (marketing head of Capcom Europe) has said that the house of Osaka is very confident about the review ratings of Resident Evil VII Biohazard.

Lets talk horror games reviews..what's the scale here?

5/10= Average, direct to tv movie cliche scares?
6/10= Above average, B movie scares and forgetable?
7/10= Good, some nice-old style scares with an above average story?
8/10= Really good, lots of scares with some original ideas, dont play this alone.
9/10= very good, you'll be scared shitlless and it has a good story/gameplay balance?
10/10= get your affairs in order, write your will and when you play this prepare for an excellent thrill ride and a heart attack?

When was the last time Capcom made a 6 or a 7/10 RE game and they expect 9s across the board now?

They probably weren't going for pure horror games after 3, have to score it on an action game scale. RE4 was a 10, RE5 was a 7-8, RE6 was a 3.

Your scale looks like it'll be good for RE7.

Gotta admit, not a fan of 10 or 100 point scales. Everyone views a 5 as bad, not average. I'd prefer a 5 star one.
People will view 3 stars as average.

That comment is ridiculous, what developer is going to sit there and say "Geez, I really hope my game gets a 4/10 with the critics"...of course they want to see 9/10s they have been working their a**s off on this game for years and been very low key with what they choose to show to avoid spoilers. Sure Capcom has had issues in the past but playing the demo alone shows they have been paying attention to fans closely after 6 because we are actually getting a horror game.

Do you seriously call this hallway VR experience a hard work ? the development started since February 2014 .. its literally the most easiest and fastest modern development experience they made more than Revelations games and it didn't cost them that much to make it , you can disagree all the way you want but thats basically what they said in their interviews , nice stealth disagrees btw ( to the hidden person who knows himself and lurk into RE7 articles ) , you cant run away from reality

No matter how good a game is, there is always someone who is going to give a bad review just to generate traffic or controversy.

The Last of US was the best rated game last gen receiving lots of 10 and 9 and yet, GameSpot gave it a low score.

Reviews are a business and not always can be trusted.

Gamespot gave the game 8 as I remember. And that is what I am ALWAYS sayin, DONT LOOK AT REVIEWS as source if game is great or shit. They gave some game for this lets say re6, someone can give it 5 or 6, while if I would review it I would give it maybe 8. You cant depend on reviews to see if game is good or great or just bad to you. For my case i saw that Colin and I have very similar taste for games, so I can trust him ( to some extent ofc)

I don't because they'll put all their money of the RE2 Remake and when that does do well (hopefully better) they'll start making proper RE survival horror games again.

The 4 million copies thing is someone yet again misinterpreting what they meant.They said they would like to see that. The financial predictions for the year stated that they would do 4 million by the end of March (2 months of sales/ totally reasonable IMO)
And then with this article. They would "like" to see it. Of course they would. What Game Creator, Creator of any entertainment that is reviewed, would not want the highest reviews on there product? What are they suppose to say?
The lack of context in these articles ripping from interviews, trying to keep the snazzy click-bait headline is so frustrating to see. This is how misinformation is spread. These sites should be better with this, it is so disappointing to see.
Just want to remind everyone to make sure when these sites do stuff like this to check the source of this info they are getting, it can help save a lot of confusion. Hopefully these sites eventually have a soul and start presenting news how it should be; Honest and Straight-Forward.

I hope for that day to come (I doubt it) and hope y'all have a good one. Remember Context is important.

They have some pretty big expectations for this game. First sale numbers and now review scores( wich I dont know who the fck looks at them). Bring us the true RESIDENT EVIL, to me it was ALWAYS their characters which for some reason are not here

Last 9/10 or even 10/10 Resident evil was Resident evil 2. Code veronica was also good one. Resident evil 4 was a great game, but bad RESIDENT EVIL game( True RE fan knows what I am talking about)

Well its good they are aiming high. Hope this does not mean they are going to pay reviewers for it. However it looks like they are going back to their roots for RE at least so it is a good sign. Limited ammo and an actual horror game.
