Uncharted 4 Hints At Good Things To Come In The Last Of Us Part II

Agree - UC4 was easily the best Uncharted. I'm sure they've got plenty planned. What I loved about TLOU was that it played so much better than UC3. I hope the sequel goes a step further.

Uncharted 3, to me, was the low point in the Uncharted series. A lackluster story, kind of plain environments, and an adventure that, although exciting, didn't feel well balanced. It probably doesn't help that it is now sandwiched between two of the best action/adventure titles I've ever played, being thoroughly eclipsed by both Uncharted 2 and 4. Then we got The Last of Us that managed to put together a captivating story with fun yet difficult gameplay that yielded one of the best experiences gaming could possibly give, reminding us that Uncharted 3 was just a fluke.

Uncharted 4 felt distinctly different from the rest of the series, but in ways that had made The Last of Us shine and refined the Uncharted formula. If ND uses what they learned from Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us combined, I imagine we will get another unforgettable experience.

Yep, UC4 had a lot taken from TLOU. I'm keen to see where the story goes from here, though.

I enjoyed the stealth mechanics of UC4. You could certainly see TLOU in the game. I hope part 2 features deeper RPG crafting mechanics.

Out of every Naughty Dog game Uncharted 4 is the only one I haven't bothered to complete. I just cant seem to stick at it before just not wanting to play any more for some reason. So I really hope it's not a case study for TLOU 2.

In fact the original TLOU is the game they should be taking all its inspiration from. Now that's a masterpiece!

As much as Uncharted was the trilogy that really pushed Naughty Dog into a level where it really is the best development studio, it was TLOU where ND really innovated by bringing together all that the studio had learned and tried over those last three games. This then fed into Uncharted 4 which is the best game of this generation so far, in my opinion. One can only have high expectations of TLOU2.

I suspect that TLOU2 will be released towards the end of this generation on the PS4 and then remastered for PS5 a couple of years later.

As for Uncharted, I thought UC4 was the end but The Lost Legacy sounds like a new direction and this is good as I want the series to continue. I understand the game is bigger than a DLC and smaller than a full featured release but I am hoping that it serves as new start to the franchise. Chloe is a good choice and deserves her own game.
