ThisGenGaming says "Another year has just about gone by. The door is closing quickly on 2016. And with that comes the end of the free goodies gamers received by both Games with Gold and Playstation Plus. Both Sony and Microsoft gave away tons of games during the year through their own services, but which one had the better offerings? Personally, I believe that the offerings given out by Microsoft and their Games with Gold platform gave gamers the most value for their subscription to their service. Let the debating begin."
A year packed with major releases for Xbox consoles, PC and Game Pass.
ninja Gaiden being released 8 days apart is insane MS hasn't learned anything with shoulder to shoulder releases. October 29 for Outer Worlds and October 21 for Ninja Gaiden. These games now range from 60 to 80$. Yalls audience might GP it but other platforms have to buy it and your average person won't shell out that kinda money a week apart.
I count 7 original multiplatform IPs, which were ultimately bought and are now published by Microsoft.
Sigh.
Take-Two: "We know there have been some concerns from Borderlands fans about Take-Two’s Terms of Service. Maintaining transparency and confidence with the community here is always our goal, and we wanted to address some of these concerns."
Do not miss the Final Fantasy IX lottery commemorating its 25th anniversary and see the new merch release by Square Enix.
I’m hoping Xbox Showcase will be where the Remake gets announced… freaking all this stuff with FF9’s anniversary and still nothing on the Remake…
I do agree you get better Games with Gold but on the other hand and this is a huge Plus for PlayStation you get way better deals on the PlayStation Network like night and day better and on top of that you don't have to pay tax I bought everything digital this season PSN Network must love me
In 2016 Gold games win over Plus games. Even Sony knows that. The only disagreement will come from those that can't get enough of indies. Backward compatibility gives MS a big advantage to xbone over ps4 in what can be offered.
After both lists for 2016 are compared it is all about which list has the most games you download and actually play. Adding to a backlog of games that you never really play does not count.
Both offered AAAs some months, ans most months were indies. More like they were tied this year
Well in 2016 PS+'s IGC offered $1,283.28 in value worth of free games while XBLG's GWG offered $1,053.52 in value worth of free games, so there's that.
It all comes down to preference though so I wouldn't say one service outright beat the other. Both services offered AAA games. Also many of the games that were available on GWG this year were available on IGC years prior, and some games on IGC were on GWG earlier.
Personally as an overall service I say PS+ offeres the overall better value because of all the monthly flash sales that with the additional discounts it receives as opposed to XBL still not offering offered something comparable.
Comment sections about Xbox Games with Gold and Playstation + and which of them was better are often very entertaining.
