Is Nintendo Intentionally Making Its Products Hard to Find?

First amiibo, and now the NES Classic Edition. Stock is depleted and scalpers are having a field day. Is Nintendo intentionally generating a false scarcity in order to drive demand? Is it simply incompetent? Maybe it's just cautious with its manufacturing. Either way, the lack of supply is pissing off fans.

Probably. I managed to get 2 (for one for myself and my best buddy). But it took me a a 6 hr wait at my buddy's eb games counter and I got lucky a couple days ago when Best Buy gamer zone announced they had a limited amount going up at 7pm. Actually went live at 6:59 :)

Nintendo are asshole. I couldn't find the New Nintendo 3DS Super Mario Black/White Edition anywhere because Nintendo decided to give low stock on purpose. And people bought a lot of them and are selling it for double the price which is non sense and I believe did this so people go buy XL version instead.

Nintendo decided to release low stock on purpose but yet these people you talk of bought a lot of them... that's Nintendos fault that people buy 10-20 at a time to sell at double the price... that's the retailers for then selling on multiples to the same people Nintendo can only make so many. Announced in July people had plenty of time to pre order and if you didn't when you knew the item was launching a month before Christmas and became one of the hottest items this Christmas, well... blame nintendo... sure they'll not be bothered in the slightest in their eyes like amiibos last year and like go plus at the moment they can't make enough to fill the demand as any they are making are being sold for the money Nintendo are asking if people are then buying 10's and selling for triple... yeah blame Nintendo, they doomed anyway right ;)

You couldn't pre order the 3DS in Walmart/Best Buy/Target/Gamestop because it was never listed in the summer rather a day before release you could have bought it online plus they just recently announced that 3DS edition like 4 weeks ago. Nintendo didn't allow pre order and only send low stock so it can get high demand and get people to buy it knowing that Walmart official started to sell it for 150$.

Yeah that is their aim of course... nothing to do with being popular and millions being sold. Sold over 250,000 in a few days in Japan. Take the rest of the world into account it's a popular item surely yeah they'd have expected this but its supply issues nothing to do with intentionally making things hard to find.... the only people doing that are scalpers and Nintendo can't stop them... retailers on the other hand.

I want one but I can wait to buy one because of holiday season this thing is being scooped up quickly and sold for a lot of money on eBay

I do believe Nintendo is at fault but blame these soul less gamers who only see dollar signs and will buy them at bulks to sell for huge profits

Doesn't the high demand increase price so Nintendos profit goes up? If so then they probably are because at the end of the day it's a business.
