Takes a little time to figure out the perfect settings and how to activate HDR while in game mode but once you do it's great. I love mine :) there's lots of info out there on it for help setting it up.

The KS8000 is a great TV, but with CES right around the corner, I'm holding out for Samsung's 2017 options.

Tapani3071d ago

Yeah but that is waiting for like 6 months to get a TV, as they launch in April/May/June time for 2017. Plus, if you can't got wrong with the KS7000, why not buy it?

The 10th Rider3071d ago

TVs have been having the best deals around that time, because they're clearing out old stock and making room for the newer models. That's pretty much the best time to buy a TV whether you're getting an older model or a new one.

objdadon3071d ago

Those things are gonna be expensive, but i guess you already know that. I just picked up a 65" samsung curved 8500 for $1,597 and that was called a deal lol.

derkasan3071d ago

That's true - they're definitely going to cost more.

BTW, how do you like the curved screen? I heard the 8500 is bright too. Is there an optimal viewing angle for the TV?

Realms3071d ago

You should wait because it will drop in price it already has it went from 1,099.99 to 899.99 in a matter of weeks by next year expect another hundred bucks off. Patience is a virtue as much as I want to upgrade to see what the Pro can do I can wait specially since it will take a while for developers to take full advantage of the HDR features on the Pro.

No PC gamer with a brain would put themselves at a disadvantage by gaming on a tv. Don't do it

chadwarden3071d ago

PC gaming is serious business wew....

Varmint3071d ago

It all depends on what sort of PC games you're playing. If you're the best of the best at twitch shooters, you probably don't want to use an HDTV as a monitor. For damn near anything else, it will not matter.

Also worth noting, using the Game Mode on Samsung TVs gets rid of most of the input lag by shutting off excess image processing.

TheDivine3071d ago

I know. Who would want to play the Witcher 3 on a 65 in curved 4k tv or Shadow Warrior 2 in 4k with HDR?

Prob won't see many CS GO or LOL players using a tv but that's a very small segment of a very large market. Even COD, BF1, and Titanfall are great on a big screen. That's the whole point of a PC is to offer choice. Especially with all the new cards that can do 4k. Use a 144hz monitor and a big ass 4k tv for whichever game your playing.

ONESHOTV23071d ago (Edited 3070d ago )

TheDivine--- dude no MP shooter should be played on a tv you will get your sh--t kicked in lol i get it if it was console gamers player against each other yeah it would work but why not just buy a 35 inch 4k monitor that's still better than playing on a tv but is still worst than a 144hz monitor

kraenk123071d ago

@ONESHOTV2

That's exactly what he said....honestly, I don't give a shit about MP shooters and if I do I just play on my monitor. Same with strategy games, where a mouse is needed. Most of the games are perfectly fine on a good TV in gaming mode.

kraenk123071d ago

I game on a PC for 25 years and I love gaming on it from my couch and a controller. Works perfectly fine....I'd never play an FPS of course.

KingAlistair3071d ago

i know more than 200 pc gamers, friends and from work, and no one uses a tv for their pc.Seems pretty idiotic and uninformative to buy a tv for your pc,since monitor of the same price are usually extremely better.

Kaiou3071d ago (Edited 3071d ago )

I game on a 4K OLED TV and it's glorious, coming from a g-sync 160hz screen the trade off from pure performance to pure quality is more than worth it. especially with HDR titles for PC coming soon(such as Resident Evil 7) monitor users will be missing out.

I have the 60" KS8000 and after reading and watching many Rtings.com reviews, I arrived at the KS8000 as the best set under $1500 (got mine for far less than that) and a major upgrade over an already great 4k HDR TV in the KU6300, which I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat in the $600ish dollar range.

I really wish LG's OLED played nicely with the PS4 Pro.

AvP on the Jag was pretty ambitious for the time. I always wondered what a smoother (faster) frame rate would have done for that game. nice to see a spiritual sequel is in the works after all these years.
