Only one game in recent history has had a good review after a game review embargo within 24 hours
of the release date, and that series was starting on the way down. FFXV has a REVIEW embargo. They have to wait!. So you too should wait, at a couple of days so you can see the reviews before buying this.

Or better yet buy it as a GIFT! A lot of places will allow you to only return a game if you said it was a GIFT
when you bought it.

@indysurfn Lol I've played FFXIII. I am in no rush for a new numbered FF game. No need to warn me to not touch it and that alarm bells should be going off since the first demo that looked unoptimised as hell. Its already dead to me like other Japanese giant franchises like Resident Evil.

So now I'm thinking they said it as an excuse. They still needed to finish something off and they decided to use that excuse so gamers wouldn't get ticked off at them delaying the game again. It comes off a lot better saying they did it to benefit gamers so there wouldn't be any day 1 patches rather then "yeah we're still not finished, we're delaying it again"

If it had a small day one patch which was MB instead of GB then it wouldn't be so bad but the point is this game has been in the making for 10 years and the last release date which was supposed to be the final one got pushed back so gamers wouldn't have a day 1 patch, at least one which would make people with crap internet speed struggle day 1. I'm sorry but lets not try and sugar coat this 7GB is a lot for most people.

i've prefered a 15GB D1 patch on sept 30 (waiting in the worst case and connection possible just 1/2 days for play the game) instead of waiting 2 MONTHS for playing the game and still waiting for a 7GB patch to download (again, in the worst case possible the waiting is added by 1 day for playing it).

People misread, but they aren't technically wrong. Square said they wanted the game to be on disc because they wanted it to be playable for the people who don't have Internet etc. They never said no day one patch but what the explanation they gave assumingly implied was that.

My understanding is that the delay was to ensure the base version of the game on the disc is something they're happy with, so that even those without internet, or who can't easily download a patch, get a good enough version.

There was always going to be a day one patch, as they'll be working on it up to the last second before launch and beyond. My guess is the previous version would have been broken without a patch, and that was not good enough.

Considering they've been working mad the past couple of weeks to add PS4 Pro support and other features, I'll take that 7GB and anything else they can squeeze out of it prior to launch.

All this patch tells me is that the team is committed to the project. The master vs. gold video shows significant improvements for only two months extra time, and we're getting 7gb worth of more fixes and improvements.

They may have use the 2 months for improvement but they backtracked on their words (lied) saying they wanted everything patched within the game in case some folks that didn't have internet service & wanted to make sure everyone got the best experience.Oh well for that...I have plenty of space on my Pro including a reliable speedy internet service.11 more days to go!

They didnt lie though, and they never said there wasnt going to be a day one patch...basically the game they were gonna release in september would have had too many problems and the day one patch to fix them was huge, which meant people without internet would have to face those issues, by delaying the game, all that the patch was going to fix as well as graphical and performance improvements and other stuff was added, giving everyone a better experience. This new day one patch simply fixes more bugs etc, nothing game breakin, that said, there are very little problems, and the patch was minimized so the gap between the experience people with and without internet will be hardly any different since all that is fixed are mostly small bugs

Almost every game has a review embargo... Uncharted has review embargoes every time as does every other big release. They don't want certain info out at certain times. Hell persona 5 is getting big praise and the game basically has a would wide embargo to hide the game from the people who haven't played.

All those games you mentioned had reviews nearly a WEEK before they came out. Stop lying! This game has a 24 hour embarrgo and some are saying 15 hours! Plus the demos keep having bad reviews and problems. Wait until it is patched I am not saying it is not going to eventually be okay.

It looks like it will suck at first, and you can get it cheap if it sucks at first. heck even drive club sucked at first. People that gave it time got a very good game cheap once it became good. People that rushed in bought the game, traded it in for change, then it got fixed and others bought it new or used when it was a awesome game.

I would rather developers keep patching their games non-stop, than being lazy and stop supporting their games too soon. I'm actually pretty pissed right now. I was one of the lucky few who got to preorder the Collectors Edition for XV and I just looked online today and it said Square-Enix cancelled my order because while I was away overseas they ordered everyone to pay for the Collectors Editions by the end of October? I never received the email at all. I just submitted two tickets asking them to take out my money tomorrow. Hopefully it happens.

This game should be released on September 30, idc about people with no internet or with a slow connection... and square neither from what i see XD tabata the liar :3 the delay was just for ps4pro, that fucking useless console (Ps4 is awesome and doesn't need a better version of it), same goes for a lot of delays (gravity rush 2, the last guardian, kingdom hearts 2.8, nioh and so on...).

That's not a big deal. That like the equivalent of 50 megs back in the day, with our hard drives in the gigabytes sometimes in the terabytes this is a drop in the bucket.
