99% of the time I'm either bored of the game within an hour, or motion sickness.

C-H-E-F3142d ago

lOl I tend to buy all the new games and then play the ones that really get me immersed in the world beat those then go to the ones I kinda liked then beat those. By then new games come out so I buy those then I beat those and then the games I didn't really like I sell to amazon (never beating those) lOl.

I find myself getting really bored with games that force grinding for this or that and feel like they've been extended in gameplay length just for the sake of length. I don't expect every game to be 10+ hours... Or for RPGs to be 50+ hours. If a game's story goes go beyond that, either make it relevant or interesting.

freshslicepizza3142d ago

there is a very fine line between the right difficulty progression and games being too easy or too hard . i think part of the problem too is once you learn all the game mechanics it also adds to the boredom.

CorndogBurglar3142d ago

Its mostly Open World games I have a serious problem finishing. I always try to beat all of the interestint side quests before finishing the story but then I get tired of the game because these newer Open World games are just so big.

The Witcher 3 is a perfect example. Its a fantastic game in all areas, but I just can't finish it. Its just too long.

But then games like the last two XCom games can really drag on as long as you make it once you reach a certain point and I never get tired of them. So I don't know. Genre plays a big part I suppose.

Fist4achin3142d ago

Agreed. I, too get a little overwhelmed because I find a side quest in a game and I want to complete it for fear of missing some badass loot.

Tapani3142d ago

For me it's the same. Open world games are too long and expansive for me. GTA V is probably the only one I finished, and I've played Morrowing, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Batman Arkham City etc.

I can easily finish narrow open-world games (semi-open world) like Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, MGS V, Xenosaga, Shenmue, Witcher 1/2, the two new Xcoms and Civ games etc.

Not sure why this is. Maybe it's the endless fetch side quests and feeling that most of the time I'm actually driving, walking or riding a horse in those open world games, whereas I'm doing something relatively more important in more narrowly designed games.

Relientk773142d ago

I just have too many games I want to play and I flip flop between them. And don't finish half of them

Fist4achin3142d ago

I agree with you on that. It seems there's a lot of games being released. Too many to choose from! That's a good thing though...

deadfrag3142d ago

Good thing for Publishers, not exactly for gamers...there are too many gem games that people dont play or even finnish just due to the greed of consumption of every thing thats new an thats not health, and more less to the wallet.

Fist4achin3142d ago

@deadfrag

I meant having the choices and variety as a good thing. You know, first world problems.

Glad, I’m about to downgrade when they raise the price. For me, I don’t really access much or care about the games they have in the library and if I do, it’d be cheaper to just buy them over time rather than stick to some expensive subscription model.

crazyCoconuts3h ago

When you're new to the service you've got an avalanche of games to play. After you catch up, I agree, it's not worth it beyond the Essential tier for me.
That being said, the Essential tier is the best deal in console gaming imo, based on the monthly games you get to keep.

Alos885h ago

Extra is probably the best value for money right now, Premium doesn't have anything special enough to justify paying the additional imo.

OtterX4h ago

*unless you have a Portal & you catch Premium on discount during Days of Play or Black Friday.

Yea, I really do wish they'd up their effort on Premium titles, but allowing a large catalog of titles that can stream to your Portal without even having to use your PS5 is pretty awesome. We travel about 2 hours to stay with my inlaws from time to time, so it's been pretty killer to only need to take my Portal for that!

andy853h ago

Yup if you have a portal premium is the best tier for sure

jznrpg4h ago

Add some more classics with trophies. Vagrant Story first

OtterX4h ago

Nice choice. I agree!

Jeanne D'Arc was my favorite PS+ catalog title from last year & I Platinumed it!

Eonjay1h ago

I like Ridge Racer, Tekken and Grandia. Add Xenogears, digimon World 3, Classic GTA and ill be happy

jznrpg15m ago

Jeanne D’Arc was great!

@Eonjay there is a Grandia collection available for PS4, I’m not sure if it’s been on plus already or not

darthv724h ago

cloud streaming to the portal, without using the ps5, is the selling point of premium to me.

Obscure_Observer4h ago

If the consumers are happy, Sony is even happier.

It is what it is.
