Not bad at ll for a stellar game. PM if you got a PS4 and wanna play with mics :D

ThePope2720d ago

I'm surprised it did so poorly on PC compared to the other 2 systems.

PhoenixUp2720d ago

Because the majority of people buy PC games digitally

_-EDMIX-_2720d ago

Well I bought BF3 on disk for PC when it launched.

Depends on the person. I'd also argue that more people own a PS4 and XONE then a PC that can play BF1 that actually want BF1.

oof462720d ago

We don't know the Origin numbers, which is digital download.

sullynathan2720d ago

Battlefield is no longer a pc first franchise. Ever since BF3 released, most of its players are on Playstation.

Vegamyster2720d ago

Do you have any numbers to back that up? I haven't seen EA release digital numbers for PC which is where the majority comes from.

Allsystemgamer2720d ago

And we don't have origin numbers at all. So how can you make that claim

sullynathan2720d ago

@Vegamyster Of course I do
http://bf1stats.com/
http://swbstats.com/
http://bf4stats.com/
http://bf3stats.com/

Playstations consistently has more all time peaks, daily peaks and currently players than all other platforms on DICE games. The only exception is BF3 right now with a couple dozen people more on PC than PS3.

Utalkin2me2720d ago

@sullynathan

That number could change at any given day. And Xbox 360 had more players then PC or Playstation on BF3. And of course Bf4 more players are on Playstation. So since Bf4 is what you meant to say.

Corpser2720d ago (Edited 2719d ago )

@sully "Most of its players are on PlayStation"

Just no, more than other single platforms sure but it's not where "most" players are

"Most" to you means less than half? Ok

sullynathan2720d ago

if you have more players on one platform and your game sells more on one platform then most of your players are there.

_-EDMIX-_2720d ago

? That just means it sells better else where, not sure what you mean by "pc first" was any platform suppose to be last?

ThePope2720d ago

Oh right I forgot about that. I was pricing out a gaming PC the other day just for fun and a bluray/dvd/cd rom was an ADD. I was surprised by that.

Pathogenic2720d ago

The reason why PC is doing poorly is because of a Directx Function Error which has rendered a lot of GPU's useless. They can't even play a match without it crashing. This has been a problem since the game launched. here's the link. https://forums.battlefield....

Honestly man it's like a desert online with not a lot people playing. There are many servers that are 0/64 and the ones that are populated have lineups waiting to get in. It's not looking good for us on PC especially since India, South Africa have lost the gaming community for PC without servers. Now they are being forced to play off of Europes servers at 140-150 ping minimum. It's kinda sad.

Allsystemgamer2720d ago

That's not true at all. I've not had any issue like that at all

Vegamyster2720d ago

Vgchartz doesn't track digital sales, there is nothing that suggests it's doing poorly.

There is plently of people playing, adjust the filter: http://i.imgur.com/VnjH2xd....

Ashby_JC2720d ago

Im not here to say that people arent having problems on PC.

Im glad I am not having issues.

But your claim of its like a desert online with not a lot of people playing is BOGUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS It does suck for people in countries that have issues finding close servers.

TheFirstClassic2720d ago

I haven't had any problems finding games on pc, it seems extremely populated.

Pathogenic2720d ago

@Allsystemgamer - Instead of thinking for yourself why don't you click on the link and actually open up your eyes to how many people are having this issue. Did I once state your name? Not everything is about you or me. This is a serious problem that people are having on PC. I know because I'm actually on there trying to help them figure out a solution so they can play the game. Don't add a comment if you don't have anything productive to say.

Corpser2720d ago

Only because it's only talking about retail sales

Ashby_JC2720d ago

So those numbers for PC 141K are not digital?

I just got a PC and I as like dang....the user base is pretty low compared to Consoles.

From my understanding isnt Origin the only place you can buy BF1??

sullynathan2720d ago

it is the only place you can play BF1 on PC.

GreenUp2720d ago

Because the majority of PC players that are/were Battlefield fans feels this game is dogshit just like BF3, BF4, and Hardline. Battlefield has been declining since the release of BF3 gameplay wise. Sales may be up, but the gameplay has drastically changed. Maps are atrocious, Suez, Flood Zone, and Metro for example. Battlefield 2 was its prime for gameplay and PC players love gameplay rather than graphics. Most of today's PC gamers are former console gamers and love nothing but graphics. It's cancer. They hate the gameplay so much they will cry about every single thing that will bother them from enjoying the leaves fly across the roads. They will moan and cry and DICE caters to their tears and gives them a bottle of warm milk and a blankey.

Seriously though. Battlefield is becoming cancer compared to what it once was. BF2 is still better than this trash of today.

Christopher2720d ago

Just to put that into perspective, GTAV sold 11.21m its first day.

Woe is the day when R* starts releasing it's RDR or GTA games in October/November.

ziggurcat2720d ago

servers are going to implode that day.

Sunny_D2720d ago

The holiday season definitely has something to do with that no doubt. Not to mention sales are split with it's competitor like IW or Titanfall 2. Not to mention GTA5 has more appeal than shooters which was also on larger install base for all consoles.

Ricegum2720d ago

It's a great game. But I think that title goes to Titanfall 2 for me. EA have two great games here.

DefenderOfDoom22720d ago (Edited 2720d ago )

I would say DOOM is best the FPS this year , due too SNAP MAPS . What FPS this year has community made levels, mini campaigns, mutiplayer maps on consoles that everybody can play besides DOOM 2016.

DICE Needs To Recapture The Magic Of Battlefield 1 In The Next Game

For DICE to succeed with its next game, it has to return to the roots of the franchise. Atmospheric map design, clear and defined class-based gameplay, attention to detail, and total chaos. Battlefield 1 feels like every rock, every glint on your sniper rifle, every falling brick from a collapsing church, has been painstakingly considered. So much care went into the design of the game, from its soundtrack to its costume department. To stand a chance alongside the behemoths of Treyarch and Infinity Ward, DICE needs to recapture what made their old games so brilliant, otherwise it’s all over.

"DICE Needs To Recapture The Magic Of Battlefield 3 In The Next Game"

/Fixed

...on a serious note, DICE needs to remove the Battlefield name.

isarai533d ago

Eh, bfbc2 was the peak for me, only ad dogfighting and the accommodations that come with it. Every BF after that was such an unsatisfying progression system for weapons and gear for the classes, 90% of the guns feel exactly the same when you unlock them, just felt boring in comparison. Not to mention the gimped destruction as the series progressed

Sciurus_vulgaris533d ago

I found Battlefield 1 to be overrated. The gameplay was simpler and less strategic than its predecessors. Battlefield 1 did have a woo-factor, but the gameplay got repetitive faster than Battlefield 4 in my opinion.

porkChop533d ago

If DICE needs to return to the roots of the franchise then why would they look at Battlefield 1? BF1 is overly simplified and streamlined. What DICE should focus on is Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2. Those two games were the pinnacle of the franchise.

TheEnigma313532d ago

BC2 was the best. they need to get back to that.

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot763d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250762d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface762d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop762d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno762d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel763d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps762d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888762d ago (Edited 762d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33762d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888762d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH762d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

Grabbed Panzer Dragoon, the Darkness, Conker Reloaded, Burnout Revenge, Time Splitters 2, Fight Night Champions, and Stuntman Ignition.

Essentially some of the classics that I can't get on PC, now that I have a Series S.
