William Kirk at GameCloud writes: "World of Final Fantasy is an endearing concept that had potential, which is why I wanted to love it a lot more than I did. Everything about it serves as a heartfelt letter to longtime fans such as myself, but the reality is that when you strip away the fan service, the game doesn’t have nearly as much to show for itself. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad by any means, just shallow. There are plenty of above average components such as fun monster collecting and solid battle mechanics, but a lot of the game’s best successes rely on your familiarity with the source material, which fails in its goal to bring in new players. Ultimately, a vast majority of the game is a linear romp from one token Final Fantasy encounter to the next with a bit of dungeon crawling to break things up. The game is devoid of almost any meaningful exploration, with it only finally opening up and pushing the plot forward once it’s much too late in the experience. If you’re willing to persevere, the payoff is worth it, but unless you’re in it for the fan service, you might be disappointed."

Phil writes, "If you've been around SuperPhillip Central for a little while (it's still okay if you haven't, so no harm done), then you know that I like talking about underrated and overlooked games. I've done various series on the subject. However, most of the time, the games mentioned in these articles are from wholly new or overlooked franchises themselves.
There are also a multitude of series that I can think of that have one, two, or a handful of games in it that aren't viewed as highly as the others, whether just or not.
These ideas are where the concept of All-Star Franchises, Underrated Entries comes from, and since our 12th edition, I've come up with six more underrated entries to big-time franchises, some bigger than others."
Coffee shops are great aren't they? A nice relaxing place that's good for dates and studying; here are the best coffee shops in video games.
I'm almost a first time FF player (I played about 2 hours of FF X) and have no idea about the critters or people i'm running into, but i'm really having a good time with WoFF. There are a few drawbacks for me, It's not in english still (thought that's what they 550+mb download was for on Day One, A lot for a Vita where the proprietary memory cards are so expensive), The story is so drawn out and well, their jokes fall flat for me. Still enjoying it and this just might be the first FF game i put much effort in to play, let alone finish.
