Blaster Master Making Return on Modern Hardware

Carl Williams writes, "Back in the 8-Bit days of gaming there were a few timeless franchises. Super Mario Bros, Castlevania, Contra, Gradius (see a pattern yet?) and of course Blaster Master. While we can forget Konami updating anything they own (they own the entire Hudson Soft library including TG-16 stuff) we can count on the people behind one classic to return. Inti Creates is working on a remake of the original 8-Bit Blaster Master and it is called Blaster Master Zero. Platform and screen shots after the jump."

That is cool i loved this game.

Game-o-holic2783d ago

My favorite classic title. I really hope it goes to more platforms than 3DS. Would buy it in a heartbeat for PS4 as a download.

NukaCola2783d ago

Awww yeah!! this game was so awesome back in the day.

Played the hell out this. Getting out the tank was some terrifying shit. One hit and you're done if I remember correctly. But in that tank you're surviving nuclear fallout.

Fist4achin2783d ago

Sweet. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

Wish this got a Vita port, still stoked to grab this, it was one of my top reasons for wanting a switch.

Razmiran1487d ago

A bit late for that vita port

Neonridr1487d ago

I mean if you're going the handheld route wouldn't you want it on the bigger screen with better resolutions? Why would you want it on the Vita if you own a Switch?

isarai1487d ago

I WANT to own. Switch, in fact i own a few switch games. It's just a combination of not have the $$ at the moment, and a paranoia around getting Joycon drift that has kept me from getting one by now.i'm kinda holding out in hopes they do SOMETHING about that.

Neonridr1487d ago

@isarai - ahh my bad, misread your comment. Yeah I mean I have a launch Switch with an extra pair of joycons. Both are fine, so I guess your mileage will vary. Nintendo has said they will replace any free of charge, so there's always that backup too.

Nice I used to be able to do a no die run

Shapeshifter751487d ago

Man, I still remember playing the original Blaster Master. Reminded me alot of playing OG Metroid. I really enjoyed exploring the world by vehicle, then hoping out on foot and still having those classic boss battles. Unlocking new abilities and being able to revisit old areas and finally being able to access them. Games like this is what made me fall in love with gaming as a kid.

Zeldafan641487d ago (Edited 1487d ago )

I had to use a game genie cheat in order to finally beat the original. Stayed up all night. I never would have beat it without infinite lives.

Deebo_slice1486d ago

Same. Loved that game as a kid.

ZeekQuattro1487d ago

Two awesome games. Hope they announce a 3rd entry soon. I liked where 2 was going and what to see what they come up with next.
